Egypt Raises Minimum Wage For Private Sector To EGP 7,000 by Ironfaceman(op): 6:38pm On Feb 09, 2025
The National Council of Wages (NCW) raised the minimum wage for private sector workers to EGP 7,000, effective 1 March 2025.

During its meeting, the NCW also set the annual periodic raise for private sector employees at a minimum of 3 percent of their social insurance wage, with a floor of 250 EGP per month.

For the first time, the council has established a minimum hourly wage for part-time workers, as defined in the Labour Law, at a base of 28 EGP per hour.

The new increase is the sixth in three years, with the last increase in April 2024 from EGP 3,500 to EGP 6,000.

The minimum wage for private sector workers was raised to EGP 2,400 in January 2022, EGP 2,700 in January 2023, EGP 3,000 in July 2023 and EGP 3,500 in January 2024.

So the US minimum wage is $7 per hour, that is 10,000 per hour and Nigerian working hours is from 8.00am to 2.00pm, that is 6 hours amounting to $42. If u convert that is 68000 a hour. As a president, can you pay someone 1800000 a month as minimum wage. You guys should stop comparing this thing, it varies

Egypt is a prepertual customer of the IMF. The economy is badly run.

It isn't anything to write home about.

Had Buhari done well, Nigeria's per capita would have been higher than Egypt. The only country that would beat Nigeria in North Africa would have been Libya.

No pity yourself for comparing and trying to find faults in Nigeria. Go and rest and have a life rather than moving up and down on the internet crying over minimum wage... If you are checking, you ain't even a civil servant to start with.
