a lot of people came with student visa falsify their bank statements hoping they would work and pay the bills. But there are no jobs like in the past hence many are struggling and depressed.

For sure, as long as you go their without over expectations, there is no way for depression. Little by little; patient, hardworking, prayer and faith, that can hardly work in Nigeria of bastardized economy, will sail one through.

Canada is a huge country, only Russia has a larger land mass.Many people who moved to Canada are happy and doing very well.As for loneliness, with so many Nigerians there,why can't people make friends within the Nigerian /african community?

I smell, I see a hatchet job.

First was Mr Trump trying to annex a patently sovereign, though admittedly a US client State, Canada. And I just read the lyrics of the mediocre Kendrick Lamar's Not Like Us (that won a Grammy) in which he maligned the person of Drake. Well, Drake is somewhat of a Canadian icon.

I think there's a not-so-subtle or hidden plan to weaken Canada for Mr Trump. Well, I will be rooting for Mr Carney to take Canada to greater heights.

Addendum: KB club was a uni club in Lagos; a uni friend who was a member serves as a Canada Trade Rep. now, so any attempt by
a barber Kb to destroy Canada's reputation would always receive a tongue-lash from me.

For me, if you have nothing going on well for you in Nigeria and you have a good skill needed abroad, you can go there especially if you have a work visa.

But if you have a good job in Nigeria, you don't need to resign and travel out except there is a very good job waiting there for you.

The definition of madness is selling a house worth 50m to travel out. That's my opinion. Except you're a politician o no problem.

It's best to travel out for vacation to survey anywhere you want to go first.

You must be depressed

The problem with most nigerians is bandwagon effect. Many people japa without thoroughly researching about the country they are going to. For example, if you are above 35 then going to Canada as an international student should be the last thing on your mind. If you did not join the express entry japa wave, forget about canada. Go to UK,at least after studying you can get care jobs while your spouse does other things and theres a path to residency. Countries like Sweeden, Denmark, netherlands were/are offering free tuition for masters degree, fúcking go there. If you get lean $10k go to Canada as a visitor then file for asylum. You dont just japa because you get money, you gast use brain. Sometimes japa alone, leave your family so you can reduce expenses till you get PR. Also when you japa and you ain't getting white collar jobs, please look for blue collars(blue collars actually make more than some white-collared jobs because they pay hour and overtime is 1.5x your hourly).
