These Sevilla guys are too rough and physical and they haven't gotten any red
Barca players are also physical but they have higher football IQ and technical skills. That’s the major difference. If not they would’ve bullied you guys like mad.

4-1.

I am a little bit worried the VAR officials showed the referee just the angle needed to give him a red card. After the red card was given, we are now seeing footage of him actually getting the ball before getting his leg. I feel it's unfair
Exactly.... This is what I was telling a colleague. The VAR purposely showed the angle that puts Fermin in bad light. They didn't show him the angle from the back where it was very clear where Fermin's leg was. They just showed it for a sec and quickly swapped back to the one that the ref used for the call. Dubious people.

Decisive win. Bringing in Olmo definitely maintaed more pressure on Sevilla and kept the quality. Hardly felt the missing man.

Oga, there was no significant positional mistake by either defender. Sevilla has set up perfectly to beat the offside trap, they used their forward as a decoy (he stays offside ) and then a player runs into the space left by the 2 centre backs. Sometimes an offside trap can be beaten by good execution of the attacking team.
Not true.

Inigo Martinez saw the move, moved higher up the pitch immediately but Araujo hesitated..he moved but it was late. Check the guilt in Araujo face after Sevilla equalise, baba know say he Bleep up.

Compare that to Curbasi and Martinez offside trap in the beginning of second half.

I'm surprised Flick didn't put Casado.
Garcia in midfield e get as e be. I'm happy everything worked out

Very useless people.... you'd know they really wanted us to fluff the match especially since both Madrid teams dropped points.

I've never seen a match where VAR used just a single angle as the main deciding factor in a controversial call like a red card early in a game.

It's even an angle from the side. Not even a close-up...just a zoomed in shot from afar. While close-up shots from the back of the players which clearly shows the space between them clearly than a wide angle lens, was ignored.

Any slip-ups from both RM and Atletico, we take back our 1st position.

Oga there was already a player kept offside, it is a tactic to break the offside trap.. Saul ran into the space left by inigo Martinez to receive the ball. If Inigo was really trying to create an offside trap off a deeper attacker by pushing forward, that means he miscalculated cus he should have just tracked the run instead of bailing out on defending and relying on an offside trap in that situation where there was no pressure on the pass, saul literally ran past him.

Madrid is one of the few club I don't like but I have a lot of respect for. Na why I dey laugh when some fans said they preferred to play Madrid in Copa del ray semifinal.. dem think say Madrid na Malaga

I hope manc city Knocks them out of the UCL early .
That's class....they can turn on anytime,Barca fans are just carried away over our two wins over them this season.

I hope so too cuz this city is horse shit.

Well, Casado recently has noticeably been experiencing a drop in form. There have been matches where he's been totally dominated and lost balls unnecessarily and he drew reckless cards.
He also badly needs some good rest....there's a De Jong to ease him off for some games too.

I like Garcia and would like us to keep him. Presently Garcia understands that defensive midfield set-up like he's been in it for long, cos it aptly utilizes his best strengths — good passes. Garcia excels in this type of setup. Reads the game well, good passer of the ball out back, elite distributor of the ball — all ingredients you need as a CB to perform in a Hansi Flick set-up. That's why some peeps say Garcia is even ahead of Araujo in this setup.

He's versatile in both CB and DM, that's why I want him staying. We need rotational squad players like that. To ease off other players and there would definitely be injuries. They come in handy.

Depth has largely been our problem this season with one or two key players going out injured or the other. So the most contributive players should be kept.

The likes of Fati and co should be booted.

So in an actual game, my Madrid 11.

Casilas, Carvayal, Ramos, Varane, Carlos, Zidane, Hiero, Modric, CR7, Benzema, Raul. Marcelo and Carlos is a toss up (very similar in quality but I'm going with Carlos in this match simply because of nostalgia. But I feel Marcelo is the better player overall. Sorry Marcelo.

For Barca I'll go for.
Valdez, Pique, Puyol, Abidal, Xavi, Sergio B. iniesta, Messi, Suarez, Dinho.

Both teams are so much balanced both on paper and on the pitch. I think it's a toss up but I see a 3:2 victory for Barca.

The reason is that there's so much quality on both sides. Like there's no weakness at all in terms of quality. Although some will consider Valdez an inferior quality. As such, the victory will come down to a GK error or work rate. Suarez, Messi and Iniesta are better at tracking back and winning the ball back than Zidane, Ronaldo and Raul.

This game will never happen lol but this is what I think.
Fair enough. cool

That said, R.carloz was a beast with his shots and set piece i think he is the overall better player compared to Marcelo.

Bro, you're thinking same way like me.
I watched that Madrid derby and I'm wondering how people tag this Atletico side as title contenders. Because of them just get simple winning form.
All good teams have that patch where they win games nonstop for a stretch.

Where I really want to see Atletico praise is when the injuries starts piling up and key players lost, then I can rate their resilience.
They have all their players available and good depth too, so I no dey rate team wey fire and brimstones never test.

Reason why Barca and Madrid are still higher up the pecking order for me.
Atletico Madrid like someone said can be trusted at the top just like Arsenal.
The only time Atletico really turned up is when both Barca & Madrid give them the league on a platter of gold and they were bolstered by a player in red hot form — a la Suarez.

Asides that, they always flatter to deceive. Na so Sevilla do some years back and Girona last season.

Who remembers Cadiz wey beat Barca and Madrid few seasons ago and was atop the league for several weeks. grin grin

Swears at times Raph makes that left wing missed. Today Yamal was targeted and the LW was non-existent as always. angry

Fermin changed our game..but what in Odin's name is that tackle for? He deserves another red for that stupid and unnecessary tackle we could have crushed Sevilla more.

You get it!!!

I don't even understand this Flick setup. Gavi is very wrong for that kind of setup if Jong and Pedri both are the anchors.

I'm seeing Gavi in front and still in defensive midfield way too many times I begin to question which position he's actually playing. It's as if he's the DM, defending our team when Pedri moves upfront.

So what is the work of De Jong??
I believe Gavi is our box to box.

Between Olmo and Pedri who is more technical on their day?

You're wrong, Araujo still thinks this is a last man standing game....i watched a scenerio in today's match where all defenders where up front but baba tander for that back..he needs learn something or two.

Olmo, I think. Dani Olmo is the most technically gifted player in the team, even ahead of Lamine Yamal.

Dani Olmo is a chance creation machine. Once he's carrying the ball going up, he's most likely to create a good goalscoring chance. He can also tuck them away if he gets a chance.

I was very certain we'll go on a winning streak even during our November - December blues.

Now, since the new year, we have played 11 games and won 9 games, drawing the other two.

Very good from the team.

We now have 8 days to prepare for Rayo Vallecano.

Vamos!

Real Vardrid fans were mocking us for throwing away 6 piont league in December.

But now, they've also thrown away 5 pionts in just two games and we have our fate squarely in our hands

Very tight title race going into the business end of the season.

Any mistakes will be punished. I think this is why Real Madrid are shitting their pants, losing their minds and blaming the referees for every single thing wrong with them.

Thank God am not alone....i said "Olmo is Barca's most technical after yamal" and fans wanted to eat me raw saying Pedri, even using Fifa's card rating et al.

But i have been watching Pedri and Olmo i know what they can do(Flair, first touch, closs control, drilling, vision, receiving, passing).

Olmo is never shy to show you something new ,Pedri has it but at times will prefer playing it safe.

You have to understand that Pedri and Dani Olmo does different things for the team.

While one is a CM, who controlls, distribute and starts plays from the deep. A deep lying playmaker.

The other is an attacking midfielder, whose first instinct is to look for the final pass and find good goalscoring positions.

I love both of them for the different things they bring to the team. Not need to put them head to head
