''Abuja Bus Terminal Projects Make Us Eat Well'' - Youths by Kemetian(op): 1:00am On Feb 10, 2025
This is why I keep saying that Infrastructure is food. The very process of building infrastructure uplifts and empowers thousands of Nigerians. It is not ghosts building all this infrastructure. It's ordinary Nigerians working and getting paid. So stop bad-mouthing infrastructural projects like roads etc, on the basis that 'people are hungry'.

Happy reading. wink

Some youths engaged in the ongoing construction of three bus terminals in Abuja, have said the work has improved their livelihoods, making them to eat well.

https://authorityngr.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/1000017541-960x723.jpg

The workers, mostly young artisans stated this while fielding questions from members of FCT Minister’s Press Corps who visited the sites at the weekend in Kugbo, Central Area and Mabushi areas.

Recall that the construction of the three bus terminals was flagged off by the Minister of FCT Nyesom Wike in 2024.

Ibrahim Aliyu, said since he had started work in the bus terminal at Mabushi, he doesn’t lack what to eat.

According to him, the company handling the project pays him weekly, making him earn enough to eat with the family.

Aliyu said, ”since I started work in the bus terminal last year, I don’t worry about food again. The company pays me weekly''.

“I am very happy these days because anytime I wake up I have where to go and work, not just the work, but have something to take home.''

“The minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike should Keep the good work, if not because of him we wouldn’t have this project that is providing food for me”.

Another artisan, Aliyu Mohammed said before the commencement of the bus terminal project he was jobless.

“Before the coming of the project I was jobless but I am always busy these days because of the work. The money I raised from here help me to pay my children’s school fees, and buy clothes for my wife”, Mohammed said.

On his part, the project manager, Planet Projects, Mr. Rasheed Sholadoye said the project had so far created over 3,000 jobs for the residents.

Sholadoye explained that part of the conditions in the contract was for the company to employ residents in the executing of the project as part of FCT Administration’s strategy for job creation.

According to him, Mabushi and Kugbo bus terminals will be inaugurated by the end of February, 2025.

“FCT residents have enjoyed enormously from this project. We have employed a whole lot of them.''

“You know it’s a construction site and certain workers will be needed at certain stages of the construction.

“It’s difficult to give you an exact number but more than 3,000 residents have been engaged and more will be employed as the work progresses,” he said.

He said that while the construction of the bus terminals in Mabushi and Kugbo commenced in July 2024, that of Central Area commenced two months later.

He explained that the delay followed the relocation of some underground facilities at the project site located close to Eagle Square.

The project manager expressed optimism that despite the delay, the projects were still on track and would be delivered as scheduled.

He disclosed that Mabushi bus terminal has reached 92 per cent completion, the one in Kugbo was currently at 85 per cent completion while that of Central Area was about 50 per cent.

I was almost getting excited until I saw what he does with the money. So after this project, what next?? I thought he would have said he was investing in a shop or better equipment or even in a different line of business.

Good one, any social program in Nigeria should be tied to a community service of some kinds, that will help to eliminate or reduce the ghost names put there by politicians and traditional rulers.

You do some hours of community service then you collect your social intervention. That should include when they want to share rice. Most food sharing activities will not have stampede if it is tied to some form of work,

What propaganda BS is this?
If infrastructure is food why are we having so much hunger and starvation in the land after 10 years of APC borrowing recklessly to build infrastructure without matching focus on education, healthcare and manufacturing?

What happens after the infrastructure is completed? What will they eat thereafter huh

A large crowd of Lagosians was filmed in a long queue struggling to collect a loaf of bread. To maintain order, several military personnel were on the ground to control the crowd. This has triggered a lot of reactions online.

It's not that simple. Are they going to keep creating infrastructure projects to keep feeding them? The impact of widespread infrastructural development always includes inflation. When the project ends and these guys don't have that income again, they will be worse off.

They are all in Bourdillon, queuing for ebilokan handouts in the absence of jobs.
Do you want to join them huh

The eyesore on Bourdillon Road
2nd January 2025

Beyond his neighbours, there is something about the sight of people hanging around a president’s residence that does not speak well of his leadership capabilities. Maybe no one has nudged him to see it, but the impression that spectacle on Bourdillon Road generates is that Tinubu enjoys the sight of suffering humans and thrives in—and through— their poverty.

If all these years, impoverished people hang around you and you remain comfortable enough to keep them just so they can be handed tokens of your large heart, then it means you have a pro-poverty mindset. Such a frame of mind is oriented toward cultivating poverty rather than stimulating abundance. That is why he could unproblematically relate the story of his “friend” who went from using five Rolls Royce to a far-less valued car and not consider the import of the nonsense he was saying. That spurious account was an indication that this is a man for whom poverty—of others, not himself—is an ideal.

That is the weaponisation of poverty aka Stockholm syndrome.

(A case study of Nigeria citizens & their elected oppressors).

During the Soviet dictatorship of Joseph stalin. He was a brutal dictator with mind of his own. On one fateful day, stalin came to Politburo meeting with a live chicken. Standing in front of audience, He started to pluck the feathers of the live chicken off one by one. The chicken trembled in pain, blood tricking out of its pores. It gave out grievous cries, but stalin being a cruel dictator continued without remorse plucking the feathers out until the chicken was completely Unclad. After which, he threw the chicken on the ground. The Unclad chicken was staggering in pain. stalin goes into his pocket and from his pockets, he took out some chicken food and started to throw it at the poor & hapless creature. The poor chicken in pain started eating and stalin started walking towards his seat. As he walked away, he kept dropping some feeds on the floor & the chicken followed him and sat feeding from his feet.

Joseph stalin then turned to members of his political party leadership. He said, "This chicken represents the people". "You must disempower them, brutalise them, beat them up, starve them and then leave them". "If you do this, go into your pocket & give them peanuts when they are in that helpless and desperate situation, they will blindly follow you for the rest of their life, worshiping you". "They will think you are a hero forever. They will forget that, you're responsible for their sorrowful situation in the first place." Breath taking, isn't it ?

Now! Take a look at all the people some Nigerians are busy defending on social media. Take a look at those they call their heroes. They are the same people who plunged Nigeria into the situation she is. They are the same people who are responsible for their predicaments. Did you see the numbers of people that throng to Saraki's House during this Sallah period to go collect peanuts? People trooping to Bola Ahmed Tinubu Foundation offices to collect branded One kilo bag of Rice & Noddles. Did you see the number of people of all ages who troop out to welcome Ex- convict James Ibori to South South! Do you see the number of handle mop following obi as if he is a seat? what of the one following dino malaye?

Your guess is as good as mine. Nigerians kill those they should defend and defend those they should kill! Pass to all your contacts & let your Political & Religion Leaders read, understand & digest.

It’s only ‘short term’ if you STOP infrastructural development. Does Abuja look like a place that’s about to stop or slow down infrastructure projects, especially with Wike there?

There are always projects bro.

And once you gain experience working in one of these projects, you will find work.

And it’s not just labourers, mind you. These projects use thousands of highly skilled Nigerians, from surveyors to architects to project managers.

They always find work.
