Dogalmighty17:It has been overtaken by events as the matter in question is the 2024 budget, the 2025 budget has already been passed. At the material time of this issue, Ehie Edison was "Speaker" he isn't anymore and now CoS to the Governor. It has become academic and is of no moment, the appellant simply withdrew same. Again, it has nothing to do with the leadership of the house. The write-up is wrong..... This appeal has to do with the re-presentation of the 2024 budget. cc: baralatie |

bontra:Prof Yusuf Ali was carrying out the instructions of his client - Fubara. I trust Counsel to have picked up his professional fees in full. Sim has lost network for all time! However, Terms of Settlement should have been filed and same made the judgment of the Court in the matter rather than a mere withdrawal of the Suit. |

*Supreme Court Dismisses Gov. Fubara’s Appeal Challenging Amaewhule-Led Assembly* A five-man panel of the Supreme Court led by Justice Uwani Abba-Aji has dismissed the appeal filed by the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, challenging the leadership of the Rivers State House of Assembly led by Martin Amaewhule. Justice Uwani Abba-Aji while dismissing the appeal awarded a cost of two million naira against the governor payable to the Rivers State House of Assembly as the first respondent and Martin Amaewhule as the second respondent. The dismissal of the appeal by Fubara was hinged on the withdrawal of the suit by his counsel, Yusuf Ali. Justice Uwani Abba-Aji who dismissed the appeal awarded a cost of N2m against the governor payable to the Rivers State House of Assembly. |

This thread shows how em pty most Nigerians are. The case has already been withdrawn, so what is the fuss? Again, the poster is mischi evous with the headline. I don't think this case has anything to do with the authenticity of the decamping of the lawmakers from PDP, rather it has more to do with the presentation of the 2024 budget to the other assembly members etc. |

How come political cases take a very short time to get judgements from high court to Supreme Court? If this was a case of corruption it would have still been in the high courts |

BabaIbo:One should lead to another. If Fubara's challenge to the validity of Amae...... led house was gone then all else he did was a step in the direction of his exit as Governor of Rivers State. Just watch how it plays out going forward. You must understand that the Supreme Court Justices were watching as things played out before now in the Courts. |
