THE FIRST ROAD FOR MOTORISED VEHICLES IN NIGERIA WAS, HOWEVER, BUILT in 1906 FROM ÌBÀDÀN TO ỌYỌ TOWN(YORÚBÀ LAND).

The first road for motorised vehicles in Nigeria was built in 1906 from Ibadan to Oyo.

Note that this isn’t a bridge as Carter Bridge was built in 1901.
Oyo state is pacesetter

And the first to have a state as a Township/City on it's own.

I used to tell them in PortHarcourt here that if you're going to oyo is different from going to Ibadan and other major towns across the state; expect them to take you to Oyo town and not Ibadan.

You go make yourself clear where you dey go🤣🤣🤣

Inspite of having the first motorized road, they are still living in the past. Why cant they embark on rural and urban renewal or re-engineering of Ibadan. It has remained an eyesore, and its aerial pictures can only be good for comic relief. How can a people be so archaic, crude and unrefined, that they will forever want to live in the past.
Or in the interim, the federal government can evacuate they people of Ibadan to elsewhere in the south west and declare national emergency on structures and see how far they can go in rebuilding these mega slums called Ibadan.
Or except there is a plan to declare it a national heritage site, where people can go and see how ancient structures with rusty roofs where in Africa in post-colonial days.

Awesome 😎👍

Now can we see the houses that line the road? I want to compare the state of their 'roofs' then vs now as in a 'throwback' fashion 😏

Or. . . .is it supposed to be a throw-forward fashion? 🤔 Hmm . . . Seeing as most of the roofing would still look the same . . . Or does color change count? 😞

Whenever we are pressed we will talk about toilets 😁

Why...how?

Even when the vehicle is shipped from the Atlantic...so Lagos doesn't have motorable roads...even as the first port of Western settlement.

Hard to believe.

Your comments show you have never been to Ibadan in your life.

Passed through Oyo town last month. The road is currently a horrid mess. i honestly thought i was going to die as the car i was in struggled to navigate the severely bumpy, rough and uncompleted road amidst the huge tankers trying to do the same. At a point, I beckoned to the driver to stop so I could walk on a safer path until he reached a more secure and level ground, free of the trailers and tankers, before I reentered. I know for a fact that I will never ply through that road or region ever again in my life until it's fixed, which we all know would probably never happen.

Imagine brown roof state that is richer and generate more money better than all five south east states put together. Won't you like to have such a state like Oyo state?

Are you saying all the roads in Lagos were not motorised in the 1900s

I would just say looking from your comment, you don't know much about Ibadan. There's ancient ibadan towns and also the city.
It's just inferiority complex, You Nigerians can go to Santorini in Greece or Bali in Indonesia, pay thousands of dollars just to see this their ancient sites but you think beere is lack of civilization due to the fact it's in ibadan Nigeria. SMH
