" Dangote ....... monopoly" ... where are these wailers? I've ever heard such nonsense ... the price of transportation has not reduced because the purchasing power of the people is weak. When the price of petrol kept rising so did the price of transportation.... didn't have anything to do with the purchasing power of the people? Again ...this country needs a reset ... a coup ... even if it is to round up all these crooked politicians and have them all stoned. |

Apel147:Here is my point. If a driver can convey 10 passengers a fee of 500 to and fro with 5 litre of fuel at a cost of 1000 per litre of fuel. If there is a cut of 400 from the fuel. The driver will pay 3000 for the 5 litre as against 5000. To and fro of ten passenger each means 20 passengers. If there should be a cut in the transport fee that would be just 100 on each passenger. Instead of paying 500 they end up paying 400. So you see those 50 and 100 cut from fuel price cannot really do anything as transport reduction. |

When fuel price rises transportation cost goes up. When fuel price drops greedy Nigerians do not drop prices |

fineboynl:IMF gave the shameless man assignment to reduce our purchasing power, He has been doing a beautiful job in mercilessly destroying the purchasing power of Nigeria. Note: they told him to reduce it, but this man went the extra mile in obliterating Nigerians purchasing power. Imagine If a reduction in fuel price that would lead to a massive reduction in transport fare will cause. It will spur, revive the economy back to life. More people will patronise the commercial drivers, leading to boom in the economy |

Mamaafrik1:So because we drill locally, the refineries get crude oil free of charge? Anywhere you see cheap petrol, subsidy is the reason. joytothewise:Politicians don't determine the price of crude oil. Only OPEC does and dollar is the international currency of exchange. The refineries here buy crude in in naira but at the prevailing exchange rate. I believe everybody knows this already |

Ijaya123:The question he is trying to ask you is simple why is the crude oil sold in dollars and why that high price... when you have a refinery in place. The truth is most this politicians are liars so PMS and others should be very cheap when they are exporting they can use international standards but instead the president is taking foreign advise such as reduce the purchasing power of the citizen and it is killing the economy main reason the PMS and others are expensive ... |

Mamaafrik1:If you understand simple economics, you should known that Chinese products will always cheaper than European due to euro been more valuable than yaun. For this reason, Europeans research, develop, design and obtain a patent to their products and outsource it to China for manufacturing. Then, import the finished products at cheaper and sell to the world to make profits while African countries do the opposite. |
