A lawsuit seeking to compel the National Assembly to commence impeachment proceedings against President Bola Tinubu is set to be heard by the Federal High Court in Abuja on March 4, 2025. The suit, filed by Attorney Olukoya Ogungbeje, alleges that the government's handling of the #Hunger protests constitutes gross misconduct, a constitutional ground for impeachment. The impeachment suit has sparked intense debate, with some Nigerians expressing support for the move, citing concerns over the government's performance. Others, however, have questioned the timing and motivations behind the suit, with some arguing that it is a politically motivated attempt to destabilize the government. As the legal process unfolds, many are watching with bated breath to see how the court will rule on the preliminary objections raised by the President and the Attorney General. The outcome of this case could have significant implications for the future of Tinubu's administration and the country as a whole. Constitutional Grounds for Impeachment: The lawsuit hinges on the allegation that the government's handling of the #Hunger protests constitutes gross misconduct. If the court agrees, it could set a precedent for future impeachment proceedings. Separation of Powers: The case raises questions about the limits of executive power and the role of the judiciary in holding elected officials accountable. Political Stability: The outcome of the case could have significant implications for the stability of the government and the country as a whole. |

Which court is going to pass such judgement under the very watch of Justice kekere? My Brother forget ohh. The judiciary is like a GSM phone in the ✋ hands of Tinubu. He can dial any number he wants. The judge that will preside over that case must be one of the beneficiary's of cars and house's bought for judge's. We joke too much in this country. If Nigerians like let them vote for Tinubu in 2027. They will see SHEGE season 2. |

ogaemma:That's a pretty cynical view, but I understand where you're coming from. However, the Constitution is clear about the grounds for impeachment, and if there's evidence of gross misconduct, the judiciary should be able to act independently. Ultimately, the decision to impeach or not is a constitutional one, and it's up to the National Assembly and the judiciary to follow the law. Let's not give up on the system just yet. Regarding Justice Kekere, it's worth noting that the judiciary is designed to be independent of the executive branch. While it's true that there have been concerns about judicial impartiality in the past, we should still hold out hope that the system can work as intended. |

Bentacur007:You should be expecting the shock of your life sooner if by eventuality tinubu is impeached and you could not carry the weight of the news. Still, I understand your skepticism. The impeachment process is often politicized, and it's uncertain whether the necessary support would be garnered to successfully impeach the president. |
