What rubbish is this. Nigeria is a country with a constitution not a terrorist state. This is not where somebody wakes up in the morning and ban other religion. This is the 3xact same thing boko haram is doing. No difference.
Re: Emir Of Rano Bans Church Activities In Homes by 43Ronin: 3:41pm On Feb 11, 2025
Sharia is for only Muslims indeed. You cannot have house fellowship because an emir not a state governor said so.
Re: Emir Of Rano Bans Church Activities In Homes by Nwaokunkpara: 3:41pm On Feb 11, 2025
Christians are always constituting nuisance every where

The emir did right

Some stupid people won't remember that there are 27 certified churches but will go ahead to twist the narrative

When I was in the University. They turned almost every available classroom, hall, corridor, passage to fellowship center.

The University VC who was a Christian had to ban such activities.

Dat doesn't stop brother Emanuel from knacking sister Mary, Josephine, Gloria after fellowship o.

Even in Lagos, religious activities are practiced within the ambit of the law

You nailed it. Can the same d3spicable pronouncement applt in the SW? I doubt it. Even the proponents of Sharia there know the diffwrence is clear
olisaEze:
"Sharia will not affect non-muslims", but is this not the same people that are quick to constitute public nuisance & endanger lives on busy streets with their prayer mats, threatening tax paying non-muslims in their own homes?? Unless a deposed emir is now telling the Governor that he has formed a parallel govt, the state needs to respond decisively to avoid a crisis. This move is not about religious piety but rather a declaration of war on the state. Treat that clown like the terrorist he is before he makes the state ungovernable for u! cool

This is a Country that can not produce a Car Engine!
Let the Emir go and rest!
Religion in the North can't help the People,as religious leaders are not making them loose their boundage, but going to Mosques alone can't help, even in the Middle East, they are now more into STEM! e g Saudi is pursuing a 2030 Scientific Research to change their reliance on Oil but our own oil Proceed is taking to Saudi for annual Prigrimage!

Banning in-house worship instead of curtailing their activities..

I see nothing wrong with this. If you want to run a church get a premises and follow the correct procedure. In the developed world do you see churches inside residential houses? Nigerias simply hate following the law
How about getting a space to pray on Fridays instead of blocking public roads.

Christians who have never been their brothers' keepers or loved their neighbors are the ones wailing most about something in Kano. The churches that operate there do so following a prescribed norm that doesn't offend their hosts and neighbors so if someone is doing something outside that they shouldn't be cautioned??
Obi of Onitsha can ban Masjid from loudly calling out muslim prayers and some funny muslims will still wail.

Naija which way

Re: Emir Of Rano Bans Church Activities In Homes by EmperorIsaac(m): 3:51pm On Feb 11, 2025
It is wrong to disturb neighbors with your private issues. I stand with him on this. However, no public address system should be used to disturb the peace of residents in the name of "call for prayers"!

They will tell you sharia is only for muslims and not for others. Same people are open to islamic activities on public roads.

Hajj and Ramadan will soon come and all the funds they lack for education of children, food, security, or healthcare will be available to go and attack the devil.
Oga tell those Pentecostals to obey the law and follow proper procedure just like Jesus taught

Did the emir ban you from praying inside your house?
Making it a church service is an act of nuisance.

But why is the restriction coming from a traditional leader, the Emir of Rano, Ambassador Muhammad Isa Umaru? Shouldn't this come from either the state environment department or the state government office?

Rano was the last Hausa city conquered by the Fulani, and the Fulani were the city's overlords. Islam has been used as an instrument to dominate the conquered Hausa.

I'm a Christian but I don't want to be hypocritical in this case. What we call house fellowship sometimes is a serious disturbance to others. It is not everybody that can bear the noise of heavy clappings and excessive shouts of Fire! 🔥 Fire! 🔥 Fire 🔥, especially in residential areas, and most especially in a Muslim dominated area. If you want to do elaborate service, do it in the church, don't disturb other people in your neighborhood all in the name of house fellowship.

The same way you feel annoyed with muslem's call to prayer is the same way some Muslims feel about christians' too. Both is not acceptable in sane climes. Many mosques have been sealed in Lagos for this same reason you pointed out. Both Chritians and Muslims can perform their religious rites without disturbing others.
.. and btw, you have no power to authenticate my Christian faith. The Bible says by their fruit you shall know them.
Sham eless thing, claiming what they are not.

What about Muslims setting up fluorescent lamps on the road and beating rubbing drums and clapping at nights?

Or are you saying you don't know about that?

What about Muslims blocking the rods for prayers, thu nder fa ya you there.

Na Israel for una, don't worry, we go begin practice Israel style soon.

Mosques are built in public space. U don't think it's a mess to disturb others.

Bann them if they constitute a nuisance in a residential area. You cannot turn a residential place into a commercial place without consequences. If you want a commercial place to operate your business, you can go to any place along the expressway that the govt decides for commercial purposes, not residential areas that people use for home only.

For those ignorant who said the mosques are also built in residential areas. How can you compare a mosque to a church?.Anybody know that churches are business centers in Nigeria while mosques are for worship only. Have you ever gone to mosques and see them useing musical instruments for service?

If you are not satisfied with the decision, you can sue them in court or relocate to iPob region where they allow nuisance in their states
you are a certified madman

Religious leaders in the North have been bestowed with too much power

Why would anyone ban people from practising stuffs in their own home...not like they are even constituting nuisance to the community

The North has too much to worry about abeg. These Emirs should enact laws checkmating banditry and the menace of killer herdsmen
That is not what is going on here. The instruction is against people using their home as a Church which is then capable of causing nuisance to others in a residential areas.

I support this ban as long as it is binding on all other religions. I.e no setting up of Mosques in private homes either.

Clown! I don't blame him. Religious intolerance even intolerance among Nigerians . What he has just done is unconstitutional. Which powers? Which law? Which constitution? Which country? Under what powers?
Re: Emir Of Rano Bans Church Activities In Homes by Whobedatte(m): 3:56pm On Feb 11, 2025
For those that know the north very well . There are multiple speakers mounted on each masjid which connects with another or other speakers in the neighborhood.
Isn't this noise pollution?
Moreover I doubt the figure(s) of churches domiciled in Rano Kano state .
Sabongari is where you can have those number of churches .

They should be banned just as well. They too constitute a public nuisance by blocking the roads when they pray. You all should build your churches and Mosques and stop disturbing the peace
