2. A Landscape of Destruction
Homes and Infrastructure: Satellite imagery reveals 60-70% of Gaza’s buildings damaged or destroyed—equivalent to WWII-level devastation. Entire neighborhoods, hospitals, schools, and roads lie in ruins, with rebuilding costs estimated at $40 billion 49.

Collapse of Basic Services: Only 17 of 36 hospitals partially function, while famine looms as 91% face acute food insecurity. Cropland is decimated, and clean water is scarce.

3. Displacement and Desperation
1.9 million Palestinians (90% of Gaza’s population) are displaced, many fleeing multiple times. Families shelter in tents or overcrowded UN schools, with one mother describing life as “a heap of black ashes”.

Psychological Trauma: Children, now the largest cohort of child amputees globally, endure nightmares, while parents struggle to shield them from relentless bombing.

4. Humanitarian Crisis
Aid Blockades: Israel’s restrictions have slashed aid deliveries, with only a fraction of pre-war levels reaching Gaza. Criminal gangs loot supplies, compounding shortages.

5. International Failures and Calls for Justice

What Now?
