“The Judge also ordered the remand of the defendant in the Ikoyi Correctional Centre and adjourned till April 8, 2025 for commencement of trial.” The funds may still be forfeited to Federal Government in plea bargaining. The naira is the legal tender within the territory of Nigeria. Always remember this and know that ignorance of the law is not an excuse for breaking the law. When next they tell you that "this is Nigeria, you can commit crime and settle your way" , just flee from such badluck people who will eventually abandon you when you get into trouble with the law!! God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs! |

If the buyer has dollar and is willing to pay, why not allow two gentlemen deal in peace? The guy also has the option of accepting Naira equivalent and going to exchange it for dollar in black market. It is either the seller accepts Naira and buy dollar with it, or the buyer buys dollar with Naira and pays the seller. Almost the same thing. |

Typical Scenario... Buyer: How much for your Bracelet? Seller: $1000 Buyer: Dollar is 1600 so I go pay ₦1.6m Seller: Dollar dey fluctuate everyday. E fit don reach 2000. So bring ₦2m Buyer: Haba, e never reach na. Oya I go pay ₦1.65m Seller: abeg I no dey for this fluctuating Naira wahala. Just bring the $1000 Buyer: Oya make I pay ₦1.7m Seller: just bring the $1000... Buyer: EFCC come o!... So the issue might just be the $ conversion rate, & not necessarily that ₦ was rejected. |

See some ignorant people making comments up there. The law is the law, and it doesn't pander to your emotions or arrogance... You will calm down when the law is against you.... |

Sugar affects your heart in several ways. And most of it comes down to cholesterol. A 2016 review found that a high sugar intake increases the level of LDL (bad) cholesterol and decreases HDL (good) cholesterol levels. But why is LDL cholesterol so bad? Because it causes artery-clogging plaque that can damage your blood vessels and heart. A diet high in sugar can also affect your heart by increasing: Triglycerides. Sugary diets can increase triglycerides, a type of fat in your body. And having high levels of triglycerides raises your risk for heart disease. Blood pressure. Sugar-laden diets may contribute to high blood pressure, which is also a risk factor for heart disease. Inflammation. A sugar-rich diet can lead to chronic inflammation, which can stress your heart and blood vessels and increase the risk of heart disease. Sugar can also cause excessive weight gain, leading to all the problems we mentioned. “A diet high in sugar can contribute to obesity,” Patton states. “And obesity drives up your risk of diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol — all of which can increase the risk of developing heart disease.” Having too much sugar may also indicate that your diet isn’t as well-rounded as it should be. “A high-sugar diet is bad for you no matter what you weigh,” she adds. “If you eat a lot of sweets and processed foods, you’re probably not getting enough of the good stuff, like fruits, vegetables and whole grains that are part of a heart-healthy diet.” How to cut back on sugar Cutting back on sugar can take some effort (OK, a lot of effort), but it’s not impossible. For those counting at home, keep in mind: The American Heart Association recommends no more than the following: 100 calories (about 6 teaspoons) of added sugar per day for females 150 calories (about 9 teaspoons) per day for males Patton offers these tips if you’re trying to reduce sugar in your diet to help your heart health: Do away with sugary drinks Sugar-sweetened beverages like soft drinks and juices are a major source of added sugar. According to an observational study done by the American Heart Association, consuming over 12 ounces of sugary drinks multiple times a day may increase triglycerides and lower the “good” cholesterol your body needs. |

GanagiBitrus:The purpose of that law is to protect the ability of people to do transactions. Business thrives on certainty - knowing that your money will be accepted. Imaging going into a hospital in an emergency and they refuse to accept your naira because they want dollars. Someone could die. Note that selling your wares in dollars is not the offence here. REFUSING to accept NAIRA is the offence. Legal tender (of any country) = something you CAN'T REFUSE for payment (in that country). |

LoneWolf200:If they charge in dollars, the EFCC may do nothing. But if you take the naira equivalent there and they REFUSE, you should write to EFCC and they'd act. |

Na wah! EFCC and eye service na 5 & 6. I pity that boy. Does the EFCC not know that political Party primaries are generally conducted using USD? Who has probed Tinubu and his bullion van embarrassment? This seem like the commission has too much time and idle staff. I don't see what good can come out of it. Imagine remanding the boy till April if he can't meet the bail conditions. |
