For laying his hands on her or for dirupting her video recording? The press is already taking side with the lecturer and that's not good for the girl. She has been made into an aggressor by that skewed headline that will be pounced on by cheap bloggers and echoed.

There was no reason for the lecturer to tap her. He could've easily asked for her to make room but based on the video, it appeared there was ample room in the back for the lecturer to pass through.

I don't know enough about this story but based on what I just saw, the lecturer initiated the conflict and escalated the conflict by further engaging the student

Look at you? The lecturer has no single right to tap her. He has mouth. He should have said “excuse me”. Tapping any one is rude and could be term harassment. Some people could get into anxiety just by tapping them. Secondly, the lecturer cannot go back to demand an insult should be taking back or dragging someone else’s phone. All he has is to initiate a school policy by reporting or sue her. He deserves all he got. In a sane clime, he would even be arrested and fired for this act unbecoming of a professional

He was courteous enough to say excuse me and you went ahead to pick a fight with an elder. When you begin receive COV from his colleagues you will understand your mistake

Self-defence. She's security-conscious. If the lecturer had no sinister motive, he could have approached from the front, not from the rear.

Ok, watched the video. This is messy. She's an aggressive lady who may have had 'history'. And read the lecturer's account: she didn't reflex-react as a result of the tap from the rear, but from further altercations they had.

The lecturer's offence: showing up on her video, and tapping her whilst the passageway is wide enough that he could pass by. He had "lordish-I'm-a-lecturer-motive", I could surmise.
The lady's offence: assault, and that's a tenderable case. 😞

Take a look at the picture where he was trying to tap the lady, and check the angle he was standing at. Which shows there is still ample space for him to pass by. A polite non-lordish person would have passed that space and told the lady from the side or at the front to contain the space she's occupying for passage of others.

Summarily, the man had enough space to pass by, while still narrow. But no, he intentionally showed up in her video and then demanding the video to be deleted. And then forcefully trying to take her phone from her.


Personally, for me, you tap me from the back? You could be holding a knife. I most likely would have punched you in the face and then checked if you were not holding a knife. You tap from the front or you call out.

The lecturer has no right to destroy or attempt to destroy an evidence also. You are right, the passage isnt her personal space but her body isnt the lecturers punching bag neither.
