Why can't we use what the 'sane climes' do to figure out what may be happening locally?
As we use what sane climes do to figure out what may be happening locally with our local, state and federal government revenues for increasing civil servants, common services and utilities huh

So where is NNPC getting the funds to fund fuel importation and to rehabilitate 4 refineries simultaneously? I support Tinubu's floating of oil prices.......... without proper cost recovery and investment interest how can a sector survive and thrive! In my view this coupled with the floating of the exchange rate is Tinubu's best policy so far but the guy is frittering the gains away with his tinwa tinwa and amala politics!

Tinubu is no nationalist nor statesman his tribal-based politics is his albatross!
The bolded is the greatest blunder he has ever made, as that singular move crashed the economy.

Did NNPC tell you they are holding it in case of shortages? Let NNPC tell Nigerians the truth
If they told you that, I'm sure you would have diarrhoea.

That doesn't answer the question. Why is NNPC too opaque with its petrol importation dealings?

What is evil about importation of petroleum?

If you think there's money to be made, you can also import.

Oga stop trying to be smart. The issue here is the level of transparency here. We know that you cannot import to store or to blend and resell. But the same NNPC say PH and Warri refinery are producing and dangote has ramped up sales. Assuming the demand is met by a quarter. How do you justify the huge volume being imported?

They are not even working in any capacity, it was all announced as a cover to hide fuel imports as coming from those refineries ...with Dngaote refinery working perfectly we shouldn't be importing upto 1 million litres no matter what

This is a very wrong information. NNPCL said PMS refinery will start in April. New Portharcourt refinery has not started PMS production also. The old refinery pms production is very low and cannot meet demand. If all the refineries are working at optimum capacity what about local crude oil supply?

DAILY TRUST has become very active in information targeted against Federal Government since last year. My question is where is DAILY TRUST all these years?

DAILY TRUST since inception has never been known for objectivity as it seems it is purposely created to serve the particular interest of its founders and what they stand for.

Oga stop playing smart here. if Dangote can meet demand, and NNPC is producing via it's refineries, then why are they importing? This you have been using gaslighting format to dodge.

Heeyyyyy hold one there before you start saying rubbish. The importation is due to several reasons, it could be that the quality produced by Dangote can be bought to be blended in their facility.
The issue here is the opaque nature of NNPC's dealing with respect to importation. How do you justify this that we have 30million liters per day demand currently and assuming Dangote fulfils one quarter of the demand, it doesn't justify the huge volumes NNPC is importing.
You just spewed some nonsensical bullshit. My point was to correct the illusion that Dangote refinery is not functioning. I am not here to debate how many liters it produces. NNPC has never been honest, and I am not here to discuss that.
My point is why would anyone think a business man who has built the largest refinery in Africa will lie about such magnanimous project. The international community would have called his bluff if he was lying. If they can export 130 million liters to Saudi Aramco, then they can meet demands.

Dangote is selling to those who are willing to buy. If NNPC wants to source petrol from hell, thats their business, but for someone to blatantly say Dangote Refinery is not functioning is a sign of a dead brain.

Oga go and read my comments and i explained why US imports. Again you don't use US when it is convenient for you to justify your BS. The contention is this why is NNPC not transparent with it Petrol imports despite the fact that they told us that as the refineries are working demand for imports will drastically reduce. Importing that huge number in a day does show that imports have reduced.
Try not to gaslight and play smart... it is not your forte.

No one is gaslighting.

NNPC would never come to the media to say, this month we are purchasing Biros, next month we would buy kerosene.
They have business analysts and technocrat who would make decisions based on stats, the market, key indicators, and dexterity of the management board.

Refined Petroleum products are not Akara.

The country MUST make decisions to produce, procure, store, sell, even at a loss, if necessary.

look what you said would have made sense if there was an increase in Crude oil price. Now even at that the petrol price has reduced why is NNPC not reducing retail price and also why is NNPC still being opaque about the true state of the refineries and why are imports being made? They owe Nigerians that responsibility.

Any reason why US can import refined petroleum products is tenable in Nigeria.

Enough of always seeing your own country with suspicion.

Importation is not illegal.

If you have funds, please import.

APC followers always love to be deceived. I had told them warri and phc refineries were blending facilities but dem never gree. They claim to be lovers of Nigeria whereas they're the country's worst enemies. Now, Dangote is giving the NNPCL the race of their lives because they can't afford to keep fuel price so low perpetually. It's tantamount to still paying subsidy because price reduction is not sustainable. They have to make it up, somehow. They need to make profit. They're only keeping up with the Joneses by emulating dangote's price reduction. NNPCL can't match the competition with Dangote and they don't want their secrets to be let out, same time. That's why they too reduced the pump price after Dangote did same.

I see Dangote reducing the price further in coming days, hoping they'd not sanction him for sabotaging their effort of perpetually hiding the truth. The truth is, they still import but they keep deceiving the populace that they're refining. They take it to phc refinery for blending. After all, kyari had said there's no big deal in blending, contrary to refining, which they deceived the populace with.

You know what, Nigeria can never progress with these guys in office and their followers still reasoning this way. Unfortunately, they're always at the receiving end. They suffer the cosequences of their mentors' lies the most
