Tinubu Poorly Advised On Tax Reform Bills – Rep by ogododo(op): 10:48pm On Feb 12, 2025
Hon Sada Soli, the member representing Jibia/Kaita Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was poorly advised on the tax reform bills

Soli stated this during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Wednesday.

He said that the North acted on the bill in the interest of Nigeria.

Soli added that the bill was not drafted by professionals, saying it did not follow the due drafting process.

He said, “Let us be fair to Mr President. For a President to take a decision, he has to rely on certain advice. I think the president was poorly advised. People that drafted these bills in the first place, the draft was poorly done because they were referring to the bills as acts. When I read these bills I know that they were poorly drafted and were not subjected to professional drafters.

“We have to be fair to the President. He is an individual. He was advised by his consultants. And the bill did not go through the normal process it should have followed. Bola Tinubu, anybody that knows him knows his political sagacity.

“He is an inclusive politician. I have to be fair to him. When he realizes that the bills are capable of causing some problems, he subjected them to all scrutiny. Governors looked at them. He said that the Senate should go and sit down with the Attorney General of the Federation. He discussed with the Speaker and members of the House of Representatives to widely look at them, before he tried to consider the bills.”

Poorly advised on most things , his greatest undoing was reckless subsidy removal , if Tinubu had just waited till his cabinet was in place before talking subsidy he wouldn't be in the economic mess he is in today

See painment. You Claim your incompetent Tinubu is Jagaban. Yet he couldn't pass his Yoruba tax bill for over 5 months now. The almighty North is holding your Jagaban by his balls. grin

By the time this bill is finally passed, it will favour the North more than West. It is presently going through adjustments to favour the almighty North.

Tinubu the taxe master will taxe you until you start bleeding from your nose. He will follow you to your bank account and taxe the deposits and withdrawals. He will tax your calls, data and your SIM.
Very soon, he will follow you to your house to pay tenants and landlord taxes, on the road you will pay tollgate and relationship taxes.

In Mama Peace's voice, "By the time APC Tinubu is done with Nigerians, even change wey remain in your pocket will not buy anything ''
By the end of four years, tinubu will have nothing to show other than his family become so Rich.

That's why no bill can become a law without national assembly input. Now, you guys can excellently and professionally draft your own and present it to Nigeria, afterall That's why you are being paid.

Lol, see tears. We told you the bills have come to stay and nothing you can do about it. The minority will make noise and the majority will have their way. What I expect this senator and other wailers to do , is roll up your sleeves and get to work. The era of monkey dey work and baboon dey chop is over.

But of course the draft will refer to those documents as Acts, thats how its done. Because it is those drafts that will be Acts once passed.

You will know the Illiterates that have not read the bills or have no idea about it. As long as a few illiterates criticize the government, these wailers jump on the bandwagon.

These people just like to keep leeching on the rest of the country

Just because you have issues with one or two texts does not mean the document is flawed

The tax reform bill is as near perfect as possible and honestly Tinubu has done brilliantly well by proposing it

Unfortunately, we have a country that is difficult to govern because some just want to keep sucking from the feeding bottle of resources generated by the others

Another ill-informed wailer. Who is wailing here?, a northern lawmaker. The bill has passed the second reading upon all your noise. The reason for the delay is because the Senate is still busy with the passage of the budget, when the budget is finally passed and the President signs it, the next thing is passing the tax bills. I am just trying to Educate you about that. Grab your popcorn and watch.

Well...that "best" decision has led to chronic inflation that shows very little sign of abating...nearly two years into his presidency. He has doubled down on the notion that his 29 May declaration was the only way to go. undecided

So why is the economy still flat on its back with no respite in sight? BAT and his team believe in shock therapy - as long as its other people who get electrocuted. undecided

The man's attention is slowly pivoting towards partisan politics. His team are now focused on electioneering and all that nonsense. What will be the results? The federal deficit will blow a hole through the roof as we approach the next elections - BAT will spend and spend and spend some more to appease and mollify different vested interests - just to be re-elected. In the end who wins and who loses?

Trash.
If the bill has passed the second reading as you claimed, why didn't they pass the Yoruba tax bill since September? The bill was suspended by the almighty Northern law makers in the House of Reps. The process of passing the bill was not even allowed to commence.

Tinubu wanted to use Akpabio to quickly pass the bill. But the North no gree. Now your Yoruba tax bill has been suspended. Adjustments are currently taking place to favour the almighty North. All those clauses Tinubu smuggled into the bil, to enable it favour Lagos and only Yoruba People have since been removed. grin
