airmark:Nothing like that. That touch gave him no time to react. Defenders are trained on probabilities, they defend against likely outcomes and don't try to anticipate someone doing something out of the ordinary. If you position to defend an unlikely move, you will get suckered by a basic one. The great Ayala is not stupid for Bergkamp doing the same thing to him https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsZkCFoqSBs?si=EdfPy7tqeXPE_j3J |

Ibime:This one is different from Chalobah's. Look at the ball on air encircled in red and the closeness between Chalobah and Mitoma and he still got the ball ahead of him. This is shitty defending at this level bro. ![]()

Ibime:I agree with the bolded... Mitoma's touch was top notch, no doubt but the fact that Chalobah got so hypnotised to the extent that he did virtually NOTHING to prevent the eventual shot (the likely/obvious outcome in this context), is the crux of the matter here... Mitoma fit dress ball from now till kingdom come but like you said, the likely outcome was always going to be a shot on goal and Chalobah DID VERY LITTLE to block the shot, or atleast put Mitoma off.. That feeble/non existent attempt to prevent the eventual shot that resulted in the goal is unacceptable. |

| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Ibime(m): 1:49am On Feb 15, 2025 |
Jamiuokolaa:Nope the touch took the ball away from Chalobahs centre of gravity. His body can't adjust to switching to his left that quickly. Anyone that's played football knows this What will happen 99 times out of ten there is Mitomas touch will bounce a little bit from him, about 5 yards, and Chalobah will just eat it up with a clearance The fact he killed the ball dead means Chalobahs bodyweight is already geared to pick up the loose ball in front of him, but the touch allows him to cut inside away from Chalobahs centre of gravity without a reaction |

DeadPresidents:Every excuse Ibime makes, he makes for Nwa Jesus. Colwil does not get that level of understanding. 😢 |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Ibime(m): 1:53am On Feb 15, 2025 |
airmark:Nothing shitty about it. They are both running backwards meaning a header is out of the question. If you are suggesting Chalobah stick out a leg to clear the ball while running alongside Mitomas whose body is in-between the ball, then you have never played centre back before. Any attempt to make a first time clearance here is running high risk of clattering Mitoma and red card. Every sensible centre back will let him attempt the control and then gobble up the loose ball out of play, but nobody expects his touch to kill the ball dead and switch the odds in his favour

afrodoc2:Nwa Jesus has been exposed to more shaky midfield and never crumbled weekly like Colwill does. Mind you, you don't judge a Centre back when his midfield is non existent. You can see how Akanji, Dias and co are fumbling this year and how VVD fumbled after Fabinho lost his legs before the coming of Gravenberch |

Ibime:I made mention earlier that most of our players don't make use of their bodies and arms to full effect to get an edge. If i get the image or video of same situation involving Gusto and Mitoma minutes later, i will post it to make it easier to grasp. Gusto didn't allow him to control the ball and he gained possession. Mitoma was unruffled as Chalobah failed to do the needful without causing incursion. |

Ibime:Yes he was. Gusto swiftly ran in front of Mitoma before the ball landed and he couldn't gain possession of the it. Calculative. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by afrodoc2: 2:18am On Feb 15, 2025 |
Ibime:100%. I agree that midfield protection is key to a CB. I remember Taribo almost begging Oliseh to stay and Garba Lawal to invert. Your boy’s lack of agility is his weak point though. A more agile defender would have been able to adjust while Mitoma was taking his TWO EXTRA touches before scoring with his 4th touch. It is okay to blame him when due. Na goal he concede he no kill person. Nwa Jesus was moving backwards not sprinting towards the right. If he was sprinting towards the right and Mitoma controlled the ball and moved infield like he did, it would be easier to make excuses for Nwa Jesus. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Ibime(m): 2:29am On Feb 15, 2025 |
airmark:Gusto is a small man Because Kante can run across a man in full physical contact to steal ball without censure from referee doesn't mean Matic can do the same thing. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by airmark(m): 2:34am On Feb 15, 2025 |
Ibime:We could see the closeness of both players when the ball was still up in the air. You don't need spikes shoe to swiftly do the needful. Chalobah had the second chance but he was afraid of tucking the ball away and the rest is history. His brain went blank the moment he saw Mitoma. Poor defending. ![]()

We played with a man down with Nkunku as our 9. A whole January went and this fvcktard couldn't get a striker even on loan, when Jackson was on consecutive matches without a goal. It's hellish having mistakes of SD, coach and players, using Chelsea to learn on the job. ![]()

Headline on BBC says and I quote: 1.5bn spent and no striker in sight - how did Chelsea get here? Can you imagine? This spell is from the village |

bisqit:If we don't make top 5, how will a top quality striker join in summer when there would be Ucl teams showing interests? Last summer, Guirassy joined Dortmund for 18m and we wasted double of that fund on Viega, Drewsbury-hall and other unneeded players, because of the senseless policy of not signing players above 25 or so. |

Jamiuokolaa:That's why i called him a fvcktard. He missed a striker that failed to score in his last 8 matches, with basket full of big chances missed. |
