How Foreign Religions Underdeveloped Africa by Kalatium(op):
Africa is the most religious continent in the world. Churches and mosques stand on every street, their domes and steeples towering over villages and cities alike.

Pastors, imams, and prophets dominate television screens, preaching salvation, miracles, and the promise of a better life—if only we believe hard enough. Every day, millions of Africans wake up before dawn to pray, fast, and seek divine intervention.

And yet, despite this overwhelming faith, Africa remains the most exploited, the most dependent, and the most impoverished continent on Earth.

Why?

Because religion was never meant to liberate Africa—it was meant to pacify it.

The Silent Conquest

Europe and the Arab world did not bring faith to Africa to save its people. They brought it as a tool of control. Through colonial rule, missionary schools, and forced conversions, they replaced our gods with theirs, our traditions with their laws, and our wisdom with their doctrines. They taught us to kneel, to obey, and to turn the other cheek—even in the face of oppression.

It was an invasion, not of land, but of the mind. And in doing so, they stole more than just our beliefs—they stole our self-worth, our confidence, and our ability to shape our own destiny.

But it was never meant to be this way.
Before the arrival of Christianity and Islam, Africa had its own spiritual systems—rich, complex, and deeply connected to nature, the ancestors, and the cosmos. From the temples of ancient Kemet (Egypt) to the sacred groves of the Yoruba, from the oracle traditions of the Igbo to the ancestral veneration of the Zulu, African spirituality was diverse, profound, and powerful. It was a source of strength, wisdom, and communal identity.

But today, many Africans fear their own gods more than they fear poverty. They reject their ancestral names in favor of biblical or Arabic ones. They look to Rome, Mecca, and Jerusalem for salvation, while their own lands remain impoverished. They call upon foreign deities while neglecting the wisdom of their ancestors.

What happened?

The Doctrine of Submission

The moment Africans accepted a foreign religion, they also accepted a foreign identity. They accepted the idea that their past was evil, their traditions were demonic, and their own gods were powerless.

Missionaries and colonial rulers worked together, ensuring that the Bible and the Quran were not just spiritual texts but instruments of conquest. African children were beaten in missionary schools for speaking their native languages. Traditional healers were labeled as witches and hunted down. Sacred shrines were burned, replaced by churches and mosques.

And all the while, as Africans were taught to pray for the afterlife, their conquerors took everything in this life—land, resources, and dignity.

The result? A continent that prays, but does not plan. That fasts, but does not strategize. That waits for miracles, while the rest of the world builds empires.

This is not to say that Christianity and Islam are inherently bad. Millions around the world practice these religions with sincerity and devotion. But in Africa, they were introduced not as paths to enlightenment, but as chains to ensure submission.

Lies from the pit of Hell!

Again I ask.

Why would the white man give us the Holy Bible and teach us how to read it so we can enter Heaven with them?

How did Satan get rulership of the world?
Did he defeat God in a boxing or wrestling match?
I want to know...

After the event in the garden of Eden it's evident that Adam and Eve chose to be independent of Godly principles just as Satan schemed.
Ever since then majority of humans falls on Satan's side choosing him as their ruler that's why God's word declared him (Satan) as the PRINCE or RULER of the world! John 14:30; 1Corinthians 4:4; 1John 5:19 compare to Galatians 5:19-21

Satan is a bad man.

He can make a woman disobey a man.

He can turn a man gay.

Fear Satan but fear God more because Goad can burn Satan in Hellfire.

These sheeple religious people will never give you the answers you're looking for, they're actually part of the problem. Here's my number 08105809035 if you want a real debate with a scholar who asked the same questions. I was church hurt, infact I've quit religion altogether. I'd better help you make your arguments before I counter it..

The greatest scapegoat in the world is Satan being blamed for the problems of humanity.

Humans are just running away from responsibility and blaming it on an invisible force.

All these passages you dropped are from the Christian scriptures.. meaning it is their idea. Not God's idea. This is what the psalmistt of old said in 24;1-2

The earth is the LORD'S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.

So where did Christianity get that idea from??

Even the Christians believe God created everything but this God is not the ruler for now! 1John 5:19

You seem to have a romantic view of our pre-colonial religions and paint a rosy picture, when the evidence shows our religions were less organised and more fragmented and refused to evolve so we use our senses to see reality instead of the imaginary spirits we saw and still see.

The backwardness of our gods is the reason we were unable to resist colonization, as [those with] more powerful gods [and effectively, people killing devices], always conquer the ones with weaker gods, though we are reluctant to admit our gods failed to resist colonisation by losing the war for our minds.

And the reason we are backward is we are still looking at the colonising religions through our indigenous lenses and expect to see spirits and angels that we see in our indigenous religions, and that those who brought us their religions had stopped seeing by the time they brought us their religions, that opened their eyes so they saw and abandon the imaginary gods they too thought they saw but never saw as we too will someday do if we can resist turning back the clock as you propose we do and instead be honest with ourselves and see the reality that is before us.

Basically, praying for heaven in the after life is no different to praying to Amadioha to thunder fire your enemy. And believing a god is involved in the smithing of iron is no different to believing fruits of knowledge kill.

If I say you are a slowpoke, you will say I am insulting. But how can a sane person even think like this?
Who is Satan anyway. ? That God will stand by and watch his creature reun his creation...Satan is God's creation. He does only what God tells him to do, nothing more...that is what is thought in the book of job.

You are really in a cult.
