For the first time, I am believing that truly the North is divided. Also, if the authority of the Sultan could be challenged on this issue and he suspended the convention, therefore, his opinion on Sharia in SW and other issues about Fasting, does not hold water anymore. There's obvious rebellion against him now. My observation. -Kiss the truth! |

Lol. Waiting for the Batists from Iragbiji that would take over this thread, telling us how "Northern elites" are behind Tinubu. The signs are becoming clearer. Muslim-muslim ticket will offer no political advantage in 2027. The President would be better off ditching Shettima and scouting for a Northern Christian Vice. Since his strategy seems to be replacing Northern majority for the minorities, it will pay him more to go all out and strengthen his new base. |

AMINDA:Salty tears all over this post . You're trying to deflect from the issue of the thread, you don fail. According to what Vasta said yesterday that 36 of Elrufai and Babachir Lawal cannot stop Tinubu. He said the North is divided because Buhari divided it. And less than 24hours, this news is coming out. How can you explain that the Northern cleric are in disagreement with the Sultan and could challenge him to the extent he had to postpone this Quranic recitation indefinitely, has it ever happened before?. The earlier you stop deceiving yourselves, the better. |

AMINDA: In a one-minute, 30-second video of his Friday sermon last week, Sheikh Jingir further fuelled the debate, saying: “I know Tinubu will not ask them to do this.Dey deceive unaself, even in the North, Tinubu stand gidigba. If the convention will hold, Tinubu must approve it. |

Sultan should not have insisted on Sharia in the SW. He made a very big mistake. Now, everyone is just pouring sand in his eyes. |

Bookhub: ![]() Trade Mark. Thank God I am not a Muslim and if I was a lot of other Muslims wont like me for being plain and sincere. These guys dont know that terrorists could use the event as an advantage to lunch attack on the nation. Many Muslims can never be sincere in their thinking.when it comes to islamic debates. I've got some Muslim friends and I love them so dont think I am anti-Islam. IfI can tolerate idol worshipers what stops me from being friends with Muslims. But the truth must be told. |

Summary oo The Qur’an Convention, originally scheduled for February 22, 2025, in Abuja, has been postponed indefinitely, according to sources close to the organizers. The event, which aimed to gather over 60,000 Qur’an memorizers and reciters from Nigeria and beyond, was poised to be one of the largest religious gatherings in the country. While no official reason for the postponement has been provided, speculation has arisen, including concerns over the initial use of the term "festival" and potential political influences. Despite the controversy, organizers emphasized the event's goal of celebrating the dedication of Qur’an memorizers. As of now, no new date has been announced, leaving participants and stakeholders in uncertainty. |
