A growing chorus of dissenting voices is urging Southwest governors to withdraw their support for President Bola Tinubu's second term ambition. The reason is simple: Tinubu has failed Nigerians, and his administration has brought suffering to the Yoruba people, who now regret voting for him. Critics argue that Tinubu's leadership has been marked by poor decision-making, economic stagnation, and a general sense of discontent among Nigerians. The Yoruba people, in particular, feel betrayed by Tinubu's failure to deliver on his campaign promises. It's time for Yorubas and Southwest governors to prioritize the interests of Nigeria over tribal loyalty. Supporting Tinubu's second term ambition would be a mistake, as it would perpetuate the same failed policies that have brought Nigeria to its knees. Instead, Nigerians should unite behind a presidential candidate from the South East or South South, who can bring fresh perspectives and ideas to the table. This would be a bold step towards a more inclusive and equitable Nigeria. To Southwest governors and politicians, we urge you to do the right thing. Put the interests of Nigeria above tribal politics and withdraw your support for Tinubu's second term ambition. It's time for a change, and Nigerians are counting on you to make it happen. |

South west people voted who they wanted in the last election. Some states voted APC some PDP and some Labour part. Allow them to vote their candidates. To say they should vote only a candidate from the south east is rubbish. |

helinues:Lol. Same here. Who will SW Governors, a pack of leaders now well and truly devoted to regional autonomy, "dump" Tinubu to support? Business-as-usual Atiku or Fulani slave and uber coward Obi who will be worse than GEJ via leading on behalf of the North and following their instructions slavishly? Mods, abeg, kindly bin this IPOB-inspired Monday morning fantasy talk.

helinues:They are clowns. The only Presidential csndiidate the SW Governors can listen to, if they are to drop support for BAT, would be one with very progressive ideas about liberating all regions of Nigeria from 'one Nigeria' chains. Yoruba Governors, for example, are very worried about insecurity. Especially imported insecurity that they wish to have more control over yet they realise 'one Nigeria' stands in the way of that. Anyone listening to the complaint of SW leaders will understand those they will never support to depose Tinubu in 2027 because they know that amounts to committing suicide. I.e Atiku, Obi, Kwakwanso etal. Senator Gbenga Daniel was recently warning that 50% of Nigerians may live in the SW by 2050 if other regions continue to make their states places indigenes are fleeing to find better lives elsewhere. You'd have to really be progressive to get SW leaders work for you against a Tinubu 2027 Presidency and I don't see any individual currently in that mould in the disorganised opposition. This article, no doubt, was written by an IPOB fantasist for sure who has no respect for the current mood of SW leaders and their determination to gain more administrative freedom, that Tinubu offers, rather than a return to 'One Nigeria' Egypt slavery. |

UltraSolid:Hypocrite Your tribalistic bigotry mentality is preventing you from speaking the truth and from doing the right thing. If it is was peter obi now; you will know how to insult peter obi but it is now tinubu tribalism have made you pick side on Tinubu. |

ch214:Mumu. Grow up and learn to think and argue like a man. I.e with focus on what matters. Is it the Governors, with most being APC in a five to one majority, who defied Buhari, an APC President, in 2021 to demand what is shown below who will now dump Tinubu, who is granting them more autonomy and control with regional development commissions, to work for business-as-usual Atiku/Kwankwaso or the Fulani slave Obi we all know will simply do as he is told by his Fulani masters if he end up in Aso Rock? Yorubas Governors are not playing. They have shown issues and demands are existential for them. There is no way any of them will work for any of the present crop of candidates looking to depose Tinubu. Progressive Governors always want more power and less FG interference in the affairs of their States. Non more progressive than Yoruba Governors. Tinubu is delivering the freedom they crave. They will never work for Atiku, Kwankwaso, Obi Etal who are advocates of 'one Nigeria' supremacy above State and regional autonomy.

UltraSolid:You are talking rubbish and your argument is baseless. Tinubu have failed Nigerians and will not get any supports from yorubas. You are still a kid in political matters and should not be discussing political matters with political analyst like me. Say No To Tribalism |

ch214:Dullard. That's why I advised you to think and reason like a man. The topic is about SW Governors "abandoning" Tinubu in 2027. That is crystal clear and should form the crux of the comment any intelligent person will submit here. The article is not talking about Yorubas as your foolishly insinuated with the bolded in your post. It talks about Yoruba Governors not Yoruba people. Simply learn to focus and comment on point always. In this case argue about the sense, or lack thereof, in the claim Yoruba Governors will abandon Tinubu given what we know about how they are thinking and what they have shown they now want as Governors. While ordinary Nigerians are having a tough time, as pivotal and transformational reforms will undoublty cause, Governors understand the need to gain more control over the affairs of their States so they can be more effective delivering for the people. Especially SW Governors. Why will they dump Tinubu, dedicated to giving them more autonomy, for Atiku or Kwankwaso who will usurp the powers of Governors to consolidate Federal Government authoritative control? The very thing responsible for the stagnation of Nigeria at all levels? Make it make sense. Olodo.

UltraSolid:Tribalistic olodo shut up and stop talking without thinking. You are displaying your ignorance and tribalism before the public. Yorubas, south west governors and politicians are all disappointed in Tinubu because they know tinubu will be a disaster in ruling Nigeria which tinubu have done already but they supported his first term for what they will gain from him and tribalism also deceived them from doing the right thing and now; the same yorubas, Yoruba Governors and politicians have repented from their tribalism and are saying that they will not support tinubu second term ambition. Olodo go and argue with your fellow novices in politics not with a political analyst. |
