But we've seen 2nd class upper graduates from the same university making waves in their respective field in and outside the country, and we've seen 1st class graduates from the likes of UI and OAU doing extremely poor in their chosen field. It boils down to who u are as a person and how far u've gone in discovering urself. Try to see beyond ur nose.

If from a crowd of job seekers, you see those that put in effort to make first class, will you ignore them and employ the 3rd class? Will that not be more discriminatory? If you employ the 3class same Nigerians will yab you for dumping first class to the unemployment market.
Everything in life is a stage, they will hold body with this job untill better things come.

U are not getting the narrative. She's not employing First Class because she's trying to be generous or to take them off the streets NO. She's trying to denigrate first class honours by employing them as cleaners,gatemen etc. Better still watch the video again and see how hungry her first class employees look.

At least the minimum wage they earn outside the Country, is a living wage while they work their way out of those jobs.

This is exactly what most nigerian graduates do overseas some even do more degrading jobs like washing corpses in morgues. Nothing special if a saloon and boutique is also employing them here in nigeria, to get a decent job right now in nigeria takes a lot.

Here in the heart of Lagos exists a saloon and boutique where the staff are all first class degree holders. The categories of workers includes; gate man, cleaner, stylist, cashier, supervisor, etc.

Moreover, having a first class doesn’t really mean you are the smarter in your class, it’s just that you cram more or have more time to warm your books than others.

You know cleaners salary depends on sector by sector A cleaner and cooks who work on Oil Rig earn more than Bank manager

The owner is most likely one of the dull brains in school who made it and now derives pleasure in "taking revenge" on the smart ones.

Are you paying them 250k monthly or what, if you are paying them that much, does it mean you are into money laundry. So how much are you making in your store per day.. bcus boutique are not everyday sales stuff. Sometimes u go days without sales.... most especially when it's very expensive then only very few people could patronise

I expected the guy to ask why she hired First Class graduates only ..... and their salary range. He has typical " Nigerian mentality" ... First Class graduates must be in collar and tie job .... or ...... be jobless. Millionsss be out there roaming the streets wailing and blaming.... start from halfway up the ladder or don't start. I don't think this is a career job for the workers....but I can see. it as an opportunity for them to gain employment in their respective fields. No doubt ...the salon is a high end one ... the clients well connected and always that the employees are all graduates. What is likely to happen if a client knows of a vacancy for a graduate? The salon may very well be also serving as a recruitment center for First Class graduates ....and why wouldn't a company want to recruit from there when they can find out about the person's work ethics etc? The one I admire most is the one doing the braiding..... she can make a living anywhere in the world . To the graduates who can't "stoop so low" to do such jobs ..... don't think about going abroad.... this is typical abroad. ...very typical. ....eat humble pie or starve.
