Lagos is a model state, you can't just wake up and impeach the Speaker or a Governor like they do in other state without following due process. Thumbs up to the President for intervening and doing the right thing. Even after impeaching him, they refused to listen to the President to give him a soft landing.

GAC is divided over his impeachment and Tinubu will do whatever it takes to ensure that GAC is not divided. Even when Tinubu intervened in Rivers State crisis, he asked Wike faction to stop the impeachment process against Fubara.
What due process are you talking?

Why can't the speaker be impeached?

30+ members, out of about 40, impeached the Obasa guy and you are here claiming due process wasn't followed.

The president has no right to meddle in the affairs of the Lagos State House of Assembly directly. Getting the DSS involved is a direct affront on the legislative arm of Lagos State govt.

So, what's doing now is what would make GAC united? Even though Obasa treating the sitting gov like his servant and other members as house assembly slaves
Tinubu was not even against Obasa's impeachment, he lambasted Obasa over his attitude to Gov. Sanwoolu and told the people who elected him as Speaker also has the right to let him go. However, he told the house to give Obasa a soft landing to enable him resign but they refused. They didn't even give him a fair hearing to begin with. If they had allowed him resign, this won't be happening.

You're ignorant, there's a process to an impeachment. Was there any panel that gave a fair hearing, was it transferred before the state's attorney general?. You think this is Obasanjo's era?.

Why not telling them to convert his impeachment to resignation? Why would a speaker resign for Obasa to come in and resign again? Which type democracy is that? Moreso, which type of power pushing Tinubu to behave like emperor? What Obasa doing for Sanwo Olu, can he accept 1/10 of it, even from sitting president wen he was gov? Oga, you should endeavor to call a spade a spade.

Hope you know the difference between Gov and speaker?

Hope you know, without committing any offence, speaker can be removed and replaced within 1 minutes?

You guys lack basic knowledge about governance and politics, yet you quickly come online to post rubbish

Was obasa impeached duly by more 2/3 of majority in an open , transparent legislative sitting system ? YES.

Resignation or not is open facts.. a state capture, where executive powers and state resources are openly used to overpower any rule of law.

Some people will wonder How one person caused or prophecy of Nigeria as a zoo , animal farm is now accepted in very short time.. everything in animal farm literature is on

When the President asked them to allow him resign, why did they refuse?, they had their time but they abused it, it is now the President's time. You're still repeating nonsense, I told you he lambasted Obasa and even told him to accept his fate.

And you think he would have resigned if given the opportunity? Isn't it a shame that the legislators receive directives from a man who is coincidentally the president now? Legislators receiving order from executive. Who are the puppets?

What if they are not offended by Obasa's posture towards the Governor? Why do they need to wait for the president to intervene? They are all sitting ducks. Waiting for _______ to happen.

Of course, it is normal for a Speaker who was removed over financial misconduct and corruption to be brought back to office after refusing to step down. What you clowns hailed as a democratic process weeks ago

The new speaker who is now a victim of toxic politics of godfatherism will resign for doing no wrong.

A Tinubu slave like you thinks that is how democracy works elsewhere in the world.

Proper clown
