ChiefOloye:
This is parts of the illusions, comparing President Tinubu to President Jonathan. To start with, this is 2015 or 2027, not 2015. There's no Buhari, a man many, including me believed was a Robin Hood of sort, another factor is, Tinubu isn't an accidental president like Jonathan. Jonathan, like Peter Obi, didn't have political friends or allies in the North, but Tinubu has 1000s of his business and political friends that will still line behind him in the North.
If you won't mind, can you reel out Tinubu's business friends and what business are they doing?
You Tinubu's supporters, just like hyping Tinubu.
These are the factors that made Tinubu won the last presidential election.
1. Muslimmuslim ticket
2. Islamic clerics rallying Muslims to support the ticket.
3. El-Rufai
4. INEC
5. Judiciary
All these factors contributed immensely to his winning.

Mr. Man, till date Tinubu doesn't have a business to his name, he fronted all.

ChiefOloye:
Some of you still hold dearly and ignorantly to what your grandparents told you about Northern Nigeria, hence the reason you think the North has something like a WhatsApp group, where they meet to determine who to vote and who not to vote during an election. My friend, the dynamics have changed, people are wiser, even in the North, people want money, power and influence. If the North is what you think and believe they are, politically, there will be only one political party in the entire north, but the reality is different. If Tinubu can give good money to just 1000 people from each of the 21 Northern States, he will successfully divide their ranks, and they will do his bidding, afterall, nobody doesn't want money. Or you think it was only luck that made Tinubu President abi you smart pass him?
You Tinubu's supporters are too full of yourself. Do you think all regions and tribes are the same? Give northerners all the money of this world, they will collect it from you and still go back to their leaders and ask them what to do. Money doesn't dictate the direction of their thoughts. Their first thought is their religion while others follow. And this was why Tinubu was able to garnered more votes in the north because of the muslimmuslim ticket. If Tinubu still go by the same ticket, that will still go down well with them but would not gel like it was in 2023 because of other factors in display. The factors like trust broken. Tinubu has broken the trust they have for him by boxing them in one corner. He has also shown he is tribalistic and overall, the economy has dealt severely with them.
Northerners doesn't follow money to vote, they only follow what their religious leaders tells them to do.

And Balabluu is hailing the same El Rufai.

Can you now see why Wendell Simlin can never get an appointment in Tinubu's govt?

Elrufai not only lose Kaduna state for presidential election, he lost by a huge margin. PDP won that state convincingly. Obi no win by 3% in Lagos.

EL-Rufai also lose all senatorial seat to the PDP.

He lost almost all the house of rep to the PDP except his son and one other guy like that. PDP won all the rest.

How do you compare that to Lagos where APC won almost all senatorial, house of rep, house of assembly, and lost presidential by less than 3% margin?

Do you think you’re talking to kids here on Nairaland?
If you believe Tinubu lost Lagos by 3% then you are an electoral thief like your principal...the Lagos result almost gave Tinubu a heart attack.......and they quickly killed the BVAS ......we all know what happened na!

it’s 2025, stop this statement. Human is a political animal and by all means wants to grab as much power as possible. More power means more access to resources. As scarcity of resources is a constant. Then politics will never cease to exist. It is a fundamental by-product of scarcity.

We all must instead be ready to be politically aware to protect our resource from sabotage and thieves. There is no easy way!!

This is the difference between an Igbo man and a Yoruba man.

An Igbo man will never pretend to like you just to deceive you to help him, once an Igbo doesn't like you, he tells you to your face without fear.

But a Yoruba man will hate you and still be pretending to love you in your front just to get favour from you.

Yes, same one. Going by your logic, it's safe to say that Sanwo-olu and even Tinubu are irrelevant and worked against themselves by supporting Obi, since they lost Lagos in a relatively free and fair election. They only managed to win the gubernatorial through voter suppression and by invoking tribal sentiments. Buhari, Ribadu, Ganduje et al lost their states to Atiku, but out of all these people, it's only Elrufai (his most vocal Northern champion) whom you guys accuse of working against Tinubu, just to provide justification for your betrayal.

When are you guys going to admit that Tinubu was grossly unpopular in 2023 and now, even more so (he's been tested now and found lacking). He won with the least margin ever in Nigeria's political history. Despite all these, the numbers still show that the core North delivered Tinubu through the margins he got, at the time when even most Yorubas were too timid to openly support his campaign for fear of obidients (5.5m out of his 8.3m total was from the North.

Tinubu does not even have the entire Southern base in his grip and could only salvage 4 out of 6 states in the Southwest, 1 state out of 6 in the Southsouth (Rivers state under questionable circumstances) and zero state in the Southeast. It wasn’t the Northern minorities that made Tinubu president (they mostly voted Obi in protest of muslim-muslim ticket). It was the Northern majority (despite splitting their votes 3 ways between Tinubu, a very formidable Northern Atiku and to a lesser extent, Kwankwaso who still got over a million votes). Numbers don't lie.

Tinubu would have been better off consolidating on his Northern base, not thinking he could replace the Northern majority with the minorities. To totally get the votes of Northern minorities, Tinubu will have to change his muslim-muslim ticket (suicide) or get CAN and all the pastors to endorse his muslim-muslim ticket (a set trap), all while improving on the economy.
You are talking with a combination of hate and ignorance.

Where do I even start from? You're talking as if Atiku wasn't in the ballots against the same Tinubu, in 2023, my brother leave story, Asiwaju wasn't the President, no Minister, no SAs, and other appointees from the North to do his bidding in 2023, yet, he scored 3million plus votes accross the 3 northern geopolitical zones. He 2027, he will be an incumbent player and you are rating him this low, my brother bookmark this comment, President Tinubu will better his in 2027 results across the North than he did in 2023. You should not allow your hatred and wishful thinking to be cloud your sense of reason and good judgement. This is Nigeria, where the rigger with the highest spread around the country win elections
Fingers crossed. But I do not have hatred for any of the politicians. I rooted for tinubu prior to the elections. You may check my history here. I only turned away from him based on his neoliberal policies. This is because my ideological principles are inherently against them. I, however, wish you the very best in your endeavours.

You see northerners are just too smart to fall for this kind of smokescreen. You may accuse them of anything, but in politics, they're the number one.

I believe the northern political class deliberately allow elrufai to be unusually vocal so as to unsettle the presidency and invoke more northern anger against tinubus people by how they react to elrufai. The north are masters in the patience game.
You skipped the comments of every SW person that hailed El-Rufai to quote those that attacked the North
You sef just dey biased

I sincerely appreciate you analysis of the last presidential election which I believe is correct and it this is so, I find it unbelievable that
1. not a few people truly believe that tinubu actually won the election!
2. Many also claimed that
Yoruba voted massively on tribal sentiments, from your analysis tinubu lost 2 out of 6 states a massive 33%.
Your assertion that the north contributed majorly to. Tinubu emergence is correct by me and not that the candidate that had number 3 position (which i supported) actually won the election.
