🇺🇸 Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines flight operated by Endeavor Air CRJ700 plane from Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport to Toronto Pearson International Airport crash while landing at 🍁 Toronto Airport on February 17, 2025.

Reports indicate the aircraft experienced a flap actuator failure, causing a hard landing that led to the plane overturning near the runway.

Videos circulating online show thick plumes of black smoke rising from the wreckage, with the aircraft resting upside down. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to contain the situation and assist any passengers and crew onboard.

Authorities have yet to confirm details regarding injuries or casualties. Investigators are examining the circumstances leading to the mechanical failure and assessing the impact on airport operations.

The aircraft involved in the crash is Mitsubishi CRJ900, registered as N932XJ. Further, it is a 15.6-year-old aircraft and has been with Delta Connection since 2013. The aircraft is powered by Two GE CF34-8C5 engines.

Voepass Linhas Aéreas Flight 2283
On August 9, 2024, a Voepass Linhas Aéreas ATR 72 crashed in a residential area near Vinhedo, São Paulo, Brazil, killing all 62 people on board.


Azerbaijan Airlines Flight 8243
On December 25, 2024, an Azerbaijan Airlines Boeing 737-800 crashed while attempting an emergency landing near Aqtau International Airport in Kazakhstan, resulting in 38 fatalities among the 67 people on board.


Jeju Air Flight 2216
On December 29, 2024, a Jeju Air Boeing 737-800 crashed into a fence while attempting to land at Muan International Airport in South Korea, leading to 179 fatalities among the 181 people on board.


American Eagle Flight 5342 Collision
On January 29, 2025, an American Eagle Embraer ERJ-145 collided mid-air with a Sikorsky UH-60L Black Hawk helicopter while approaching Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in the United States, resulting in 67 fatalities among the 67 people on both aircraft.

This list does not include other smaller less well reported crashes and incidents including the ones in Nigeria.

Flying is still the safest form of transportation. For one crash which is reported, at least nine hundred journeys took place the world over. I will take such odd compared to entering a vehicle which poses a greater risk.

In all sincerity this recent plane crashes need to be addressed by Trump himself not by any one else in government, there has to be a conscious effort to vet the performance level of any plane that would be in use. We could probably call this the work of opposition party but then again it's becoming to frequent, the earlier the better before the figures starts piling up.

I can't imagine how the passengers felt being suspended upside down after it landed. If you unbuckle the seat belt, you'll drop on down your head. And with the fear of a possible fire or explosion, passengers must have been frantic to unbuckle and get out of the plane.
