“With feasibility studies completed and proof of funds secured, the project now awaits approvals from the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) and the Federal Executive Council (FEC) before construction begins,” he said.

FG should do a thorough due diligence on the proposal.

As commendable as it looks, we don't want it to be another P&ID and Sunrise Mambilla. The news is all over the media yet the government is yet to consider it. O ri bakan when you are already pushing it in the media space.

My own be say make they bring back fuel subsidy, open borders for rice and other essentials. So that the killing inflation can reduce drastically.
The first infrastructure to build is supposed to be citizens' stomach infrastructure.

Tinubu would be the best President Nigeria would ever have.

I do like the fact that apc atleast trys to start and also finish their projects unlike pdp of b4 that start projects with no intention to finish it but to use it as a continuous looting cycle.

That said I fear that the taking up of so many capital projects at same time with not only affect the quality of these projects but also eat into the limited resources available and the economy due to loan repayments and other financial obligations tied to the projects directly or indirectly.

This is a very good project but I think the government should focus on completing the rail projects and fixing the roads that are been rehabilitated across Nigeria for now.
You don't stop a transformative project because there are bad roads in a country.

If you've ever driven through the uk you will realise there are poor roads but this did not stop the H2 high speed train.

All the average Nigerian wants is availability of work, food, security and good living. You folks steal a lot already. This isn't too much to ask..
And steady electricity. This is very important cos it's going to change everything in Nigeria. And it seems like it's rocket science to give us steady electricity.

No govt both past and present has achieved any meaningful progress on this.

It's a private initiative which doesn't require govt money.

Govt can focus on fixing the roads, it doesn't affect the rail transportation we're examining here.

Isnt this an advert?

When was the contract advertised?

Who are the companies that bidded for it?

what metrics were used to select the "winning" company?

This is a white elephant project that is being touted just to siphon public funds.

If the Lagos Blue line (an outed single gauge, diesel locomotive trainline) which was awarded in 2008 didnt become operation till 2024,
how will a so-called "bullet train" be completed in 48 months?

This kind of train journey is long overdue and it would be a great legacy project if President Tinubu can pull it through.

Imagine Lagos to Abuja in under 6 hours? People will even commute daily between the capital and commercial capital.

Improved economy, enhanced safety, etc.

Coastal highway passed through the back of my house. I've never seen a road constructed with so much speed. They are even working at night. It is crazy. So many things may be wrong with Nigeria but when we see good things, it cost nothing to acknowledge

You guys are something else. Which coastal road? The one the workers don't sleep at night. It passed behind my house. I can see the workers from my bedroom. They even work with lights at night. They are working with so much speed I dont know where they are running to. The Internet provider for my estate kept coming up and off because they kept cutting their cables every single day.

Finally a rail line that can make sense because if you put ticket at ₦50, 000 people would massively buy it... In fact it can do 20 trips daily and still be 80% filled most times

The other one is Lagos to Eastern Region rail.. Benin, warri ,port Harcourt With Branch off to Onitsha and owerri ... Even if you put ticket here at ₦50, 000 it would be 90% filled

Outside this there is no other rail system you can put the price at 20k and get 50% filled train

This is economics not sentiments
This train will not pass through Mkpurumini region

Lagos-Calabar project IS NOT FADING. It just doesn't make sense that they'll be giving update EVERYDAY. Work is going on all over Nigeria. Vote who you want to vote in 2027, we will vote ASIWAJU. Come back here and quote me if OBI gets up to the number of votes he got in the last election, HE WILL NOT GET UP TO 3MILLION VOTES, MARK MY WORDS.

RIGHT BEFORE YOUR EYES, you'll see how they will start the Lagos-Abuja bullet train project. Am excited already. It will be going concurrently with the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway. Una no believe am. OBIDENSE wouldn't have thought of such project. He said the coastal highway was unnecessary because government should complete other road projects, thats3when I thought to myself, so am even smarter than this guy. God forbid I vote for OBI that am smarter than.
