A man named Vincent Udo has raised an alarm about a theft that allegedly happened on Monday at a shopping complex in Abuja.

According to Udo, three women wearing hijabs stole three laptops from a store. His Facebook post, which has gone viral, includes CCTV footage showing how the incident took place.

In the video, a man believed to be working with the women is seen talking to a store attendant, pretending to ask about products. Many social media users believe this was a trick to distract the worker.

While the attendant was engaged, one of the women quietly took the laptops, and another quickly hid them under her hijab.

Udo, in his post, wrote, “Please friends, this man and his family stole three laptops from my brother just now. If you know him or how I can find him, 100k for you. Share this so it goes around.”

He also shared a contact number for anyone with useful information.

Facial recognition tech isn't really available in Nigeria yet. We don't even have the database for it to work on.

That said, what is the point having a cctv system in place when it doesn't cover all sections of the store and isn't actively monitored in real time? If the cameras cover all sections of the store and the feed is being actively monitored, there is no way those women would have been able to pull this off.
