Much ado about nothing..
Songs of inferiority complex.. Siege mentality..
I mean, do it already and stop with the shenanigans..This noise have been going on since APC came to power.

You can go the extra mile to tell all Yorubas in Lagos not ever transact anything with anyone who does not speak Yoruba. Put your feet down on that and stop disturbing us everyday with all these talk about the need to yorubanise Lagos state.

All I ask for is to have a new financial capital for the country in one of the littoral states. Calabar? Warri? Akwa Ibom? Lagos is tired of "accommodating" us , it is time the get tired of accommodating all the federal government largesse they corner every year..
There!
You wrote all this nonsense full of fear and hatred just because a state in Yoruba land wants to have a Yoruba translation of its laws. Your bitterness is a world beater o. You people sgiygi back to your villages if you feel you are not okay with na.

Let the asylum seekers and refugees from the five plots of dirt, eroded land get that message loud and clear. Go back to your useless zone and region and turn it into the next Dubai. We don't want your fake products, prostitutes and cannibal way of live. You are not wanted here.

@GeneralPula, thank you for showing these ignorant people the light. The original Yoruba land extended up to Togo and some parts of Ghana. It was the British that bulkanised Yoruba states. So, culturally and spiritually, these Eguns and the like still see themselves as Yorubas, just as many Brazilians, some Portuguese, Trinidad and Tobagoans and Cubans also see themselves as Yorubas.

It's shocking, the rate of stupidity on Nairaland.
Look , the Yorubas of Benin Repubiic and togo, the egun Of Benin and togo, the Ga and Ewe Tribes Of Benin, togo and Ghana all migrated from Ile ife and are descendants of Oduduwa

Ouidah ,Seme and Allada were all originally part of the Yoruba Popo Kingdom that reached togo

The Fon Of Dahomey Conquered part of it and intermarried with the Popos to produce the egun People and Language

Even the Fon People themselves had some Yoruba Ancestry but it was the Slave trade that truly put them on the Map

They were Truly a Slave raiding and Trading Nation they didn’t even bother with Agriculture till Slavery was abolished after french Colonisation so the egun had to flee from them to save themselves from Slavery

When the Alaafin of Oyo reconquered the Kingdom both the Fon and egun there became bilingual speaking Yoruba too in addition to the Gun gbe Language

Egun Ewe Yoruba are all Siblings and one people

That is why everytime Ipob try to use their bad belle ti put wedge between Yoruba, Egun and Eweit always fails and they are completely uninterested

it is because they know their own homeboys

After translating to Yoruba, what’s the fate of the real indigenous people of Lagos Awori and Egun?
They are Yorubas just like we have the Eguns in Ogun state, the Ijebus, the Ekiti ketes in Ekiti state, all are Yorubas

Translate it into the three major languages too, especially Igbo. Igbos are 50 percent of Lagos population, Hausas are 15 percent and Yerubas are 35 percent
You're sick in the head, where did you you see your fake statistics. So Igbos are plentier than the host?
Ode!
Go back to your hometown and tell your government to translate the law into your local dialect, this is Yoruba land and we'll do it exactly the way we want it.
Go and knack your head against the wall.

[quote author=Lanrelagboi post=134189515]The Lagos State Government has reiterated its commitment to translating State laws into Yoruba Language to enhance legal accessibility and inclusivity.

- This initiative would enhance civic participation and engagement, as citizens would better understand the laws governing them, leading to more active participation in governance processes such as public hearings, community dialogues, and policy advocacy.

- This initiative will also promote cultural heritage, as it would help to modernize Yoruba by incorporating contemporary legal terminologies, thereby enriching the language and keeping it relevant for future generations.

Organized by the Lagos State Law Reform Commission (LAWRECOM) in conjunction with the Bureau of Statistics, Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget.
