Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini has slammed Ademola Lookman for missing a penalty in their 3-1 Champions League loss to Club Brugge on Tuesday, which led to their elimination from the competition.

Lookman, after recovering from a knee injury that kept him out for several weeks, came off the bench at halftime with Atalanta trailing 3-0. However, he quickly scored seconds after coming on, reviving hopes of a comeback.

On the hour mark, Atalanta were awarded a penalty after Juan Cuadrado was fouled by Christos Tzolis. Lookman stepped up to take the penalty, but his effort was saved by Simon Mignolet, boosting Club Brugge’s morale and securing their 3-1 win on the night and 5-2 aggregate victory.

This can happened to anybody.
World class footballers have missed penalty in crucial games like this.
In as much that a lot was expected, to close the gap as regards goal, the coach to me showed stupidity to have reacted like that.
There are better ways he could have managed his frustrations and while letting out his steam!

their first choice pk taker also missed penalty against arsenal, Ronaldo, messi and mbappe have lost crucial penalties so?

So if u are a coach, u will start a player that hasn't played a game for weeks ...and he dint single handedly win europa for them.... football is not tennis... he wasn't the only one that scored in that tournament... if others didn't score in the games that took them to the final , he wasn't have had the opportunity to feature on the final in the first place.... if others dint defend properly in the final or pass the ball to him, e no for win .... whenever a black person is criticised , u lots come out to call it racism .... inferiority complex syndrome
