Military to Release 381 Rehabilitated Ex-Terrorists in March 2025

The military has announced plans to reintegrate 381 rehabilitated ex-terrorists in March 2025, urging state governments to support their transition through monitoring and empowerment programs.

Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja on Tuesday, Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Christopher Musa, represented by Air Vice Marshal Shayi Olatunde, stated that 789 individuals are currently undergoing rehabilitation, with 381 expected to complete the program next year.

Musa emphasized the need for a well-structured reintegration process to sustain the progress made under Operation Safe Corridor. He urged state governments to actively participate by implementing security measures to monitor reintegrated individuals and facilitate their transition into society.

“As part of their reintegration, each individual will receive personal items and startup resources to help them establish small businesses and rebuild their lives,” Musa stated. “State governments should provide additional support to ease this transition and deploy local security structures to monitor their reintegration effectively.”
