The shop keeper must have been thanking their stars that big business had come and in the process, failed to stay vigilant.

In their main, Alhaji had come to shut down everywhere not knowing Ali Baba had come there with 3 thieves. Thing is that the northerners capitalise on the abaya to perpetuate crimes knowing that no one will harass a woman "decently" covered and they use this abaya as a tool for crimes.

That said, what is the point having a cctv system in place when it doesn't cover all sections of the store and isn't actively monitored in real time? If the cameras cover all sections of the store and the feed is being actively monitored, there is no way those women would have been able to pull this off.

Lol ... Exactly! Nigerians, we like to install things that we don't know how to utilize. I have seen a lot of malls and supermarkets with CCTV camera and no 24/7 monitoring of these cameras. It's funny to me, some time ago a small supermarket that I always patronise got robbed in this manner, the guy came in took some items and sneaked out with no one noticing it, someone who knows the shop owner saw this guy boarding a bike and realised that he just shop lifted and immediately alerted the shop owner. They played back their CCTV footage and saw him stocking up some items under his clothes and slithering off. Everyone was like "ha Thank god say you get camera o, we go find am, don't worry we don mark him face", Baba face no too show like that oo lol... Lots of people were praising the shop owner for installing a CCTV, it felt so strange to me and I had to be the party pooper and asked them all a question.... " What's the need of having a CCTV camera if no one is going to be monitoring the footage round the clock?" Everyone felt silent and you could sense the moment that their brains started to work finally, so I pressed on " how are you sure you are going to find this guy now? We don't know him around this neighborhood and it's not like his face is clear as day in this footage" .... That's when they all started saying " na true o, ah the guy go don go, how you wan take find am now" . I just payed for what I came to buy and left quietly.

The whole thing was just too funny to me because the CCTV monitor itself was actually right there on the cashier's table alongside the payment monitor, the only entrance into the shop is also right there beside the cashier table, and yet someone came in, stole some items and made away with it. Apparently, the cashier ( the shop owner himself) was busy attending to customers and didn't have time to monitor what the thief was doing which created that pocket of chance for the thief to do his thing and gbera from there.

Criminals who where it just use it for camouflage just the way some people can pretend as a pastor and use the secret place for organ harvesting. Women wear hijab to distinct themselves as holy people who have regard for Islam not only in the north but even in the south. Any other religion who wears it does so to be identified as pure. There is no where holiness is tested but it can be perceived and it's through lifestyle which dressing plays a key role
