Narration is optional based on the bank. Some banks, if you do not input any narration the app won't allow you the next stage, unless you input your narration. Anyways I blame Bashir ; no way he could call that a mistake since he inputted Obi's name on his remarks/narration. My question is;
(1) Did he not see Obi's name as a beneficiary ?
(2) Assuming the name on the beneficiary column was not noticed, how come he did not observe it on the narration/remarks column?

No, I did not notice a lot of "Yoruba posts" trying to paint Igbos bad for this. I'm not saying there haven't been such an avalanche though – I may have missed it. But from when I started reading at the beginning of the thread, here and on Twitter, it's those accusing Mr Ahmad of terrible things (targeting Igbos and all) that I saw. I saw people accusing people of taring the Igbo race, arguing that there's nothing wrong in keeping the money anyway, that Mr Ahmad should have been careful, that his narration is wrong, that it's all made up to target 'Obi', that he should have begged... Shocking!

I tried the said account details 0024447795 with my Access bank app it is indicating error, meaning Bashir Ahmad is up to something else.

to be honest...this people blaming the guy are nothing but pure evil...this same error has happened to me like 3 times ..one I didn't get the money back at all..another I got half..the last one the person sent it to the right beneficiary..no one is beyond mistake..but the way those people defend anyone with semblance of "one of ours" is nothing but pure evil.instead of people to call Mr Obi out ..they are saying fake alerts ,fake transfer..what kind of evil minded people are this for heavens sake .

A friend of mine mistakenly send 200k to one account nunber too. Uphill today we haven't seen the money, we went to the recipient bank, did court affidavit and all sort. We no still see money.. Nigeria banks are opeuh

I did same mistake like two years ago. Union Bank vs Access. Still haven't gotten my money till now. Union Bank kept dribbling me saying Access bank failed to contact the customer. Now, because Ahmad na big man, everywhere dey shake

1. The account number was not input by error
because the narration of the transaction show Bashir Admed know the account name .(Beneficiary name) Narration is type by the sender, so that can't be an error
2. The fool just want to score a cheap tribal blackmail ,is either he deliberately part way with the money just to blackmail a whole tribe as usual. Because he definitely knows such money cant really or easily be refunded due to present economy situation
3. The right channel to request for the money is not calling out the receiver,cos he didn't ask you to send any money to him or her . Bank know how to get such money to be refunded not calling him out.
All this hate for a particular region cant help development of this country..North need to understand that divide and rule tactics of politics is cast already....I can bet everything the fool deliberately send the money to the beneficiary account knowing fully well the money may not be easily refunded cos of present economy situation and also some difficult in bank tracking

I have mistakenly sent money to someone and I went through the same process and contacted the reciepient who quickly sent my money back.

Sometimes when you intend to send money via transfer, the name may not appear . This was how I got into that jam. After that , I always ensure the app verifies the account recipient name and bank before I hit send.

Simple question, how do you type description or narration when sending money? No app or bank brings narration. Narration is a deliberate action that tells the purpose and intent of the money being sent.

If I'm the said recipient, I'll make sure that money goes through some judicial process before sending back. And if I'm in a soil mood, he pay for disturbing and traumatizing my peace.
Anyway, both igbo,Yoruba, hausa and Nigerians in general aren't people I naturally like to talk to
