So Italian teams are this useless this season? Five teams qualified, one eliminated in group phase, three eliminated in last 32, only one left (Inter).

Android17:Whatever formation he used against Newcastle should've been deployed against Madrid .. Foden playing wide has never worked .. debruyne in that bernado's position would've been better .. he better make him play Silva for foden's position then place marmous on the lw then foden playing up front in a false 9 setup... In short, he needed a three man midfield since his midfield is getting rusty and old.. |

drisham:that guy would be the death of us.. See jota in the first half too .. If we bottle this league, it's on the players not the coach .. Just a simple tip from Darwin would have us with three point already .. For a South America, Nunez is one brain dead footballer , no technicality... |

Jamiuokolaa:Yeah. Flick is his father then. Logic checks out. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Android17: 11:28am On Feb 20, 2025 |
monerozi5590:Why limit it to only UCL? You can't pick and choose truth to use. That's the challenge. Otherwise, extend that logic to Flick or your club. Pep has defeated your club more times than any other manager has. By this logic, Pep > RM. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by popizaino(m): 11:51am On Feb 20, 2025 |
Android17:Yet you wanted to lynch me when i said Pep supposed plan B is Carlos plan A. Ancelotti always attack with the ball even without heavy possession, a pattern Pep should have long considered. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by monerozi5590: 12:37pm On Feb 20, 2025 |
Android17:We are using managers to managers under the same competition. 4/5 is a greater fraction than 1/5. Hence Carlo is the greater manager. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Android17: 1:12pm On Feb 20, 2025 |
monerozi5590:They've faced themselves 22 times. Head-to-Head: Guardiola leads their direct encounters, 12 wins to Ancelotti’s 6 (with 4 draws) across 22 matches. Again, I ask, why limit it to the UCL? |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Android17: 1:33pm On Feb 20, 2025 |
popizaino:I don't recall having this conversation with you. Carlo parked the bus the last time both managers faced. That's all I agreed with. Carlo does not always attack. He just molds his teams to the talents available. In contrast, Pep believes there's only one way to truly play football. So he tries to sign players that can interpret the system. When Pep gets the personnel aspect right, he is untouchable because his ideas are more failsafe than anything else any other manager has thought about. The problem is, when he doesn't have the required personnel, he is absolutely against switching it up. Rather wanting to suffer through the difficulties based on some philosophical bs. That's Pep's major issue. His sentimentality. RM beat City last season via PKs- having suffered for large minutes defending in their box. Compare it to this season that they summarily outplayed City both home and away. What changed? Carlo set out to explore City's weaknesses. They combined short passes with long balls and hoofed it to Mbappé at every chance they could. City players were afraid to even pass to open men. Everyone wanted to pass it sideways to be safe. At no point were RM at the risk of running in behind to defend. Watch out as they'll play Barca again and you'd see Barca get alot of chances this way. Pep played Savio as the false 9, then Foden as RW who was to invert. Gvardiol & Khusanov were providing width (stupidity because he has natural wingers). Then add the high line (when Kylian and Vini are running with your defense line). What transpired was, Savio running into road blocks trying to dribble into a crowded middle. Foden/Him/ Gundo occupying each others space. Then upon losing the ball, since Khusanov & Josko were high up, we needed Gundo, Bernardo & Nico to stop the transitions. Yeah, that means Nico was left alone in la la land. Pep saw that and did not change anything. Self-sabotage. He played a different way against Newcastle but decided something else against RM. Just like we played Nottingham a certain way, won 3-0 and just like that, Pep never played that formation or tactic again. That's why it is hard to give other managers special credit for beating him this season. Man Urinated beat City 1-2 at the Etihad. This godawful United. This abject and pisspoor United. This ebbing-towards-relegation United side. |

larride:Are you counting losing on penalties? B/c RM vs City last season was 3-3 and 1-1. PKs determine who goes through but don't add to the L record. Same way PK goals don't add to a player's tally. |

monerozi5590:Think of it. Iraola beat Pep with Bournemouth. Should it not count? When Tuchel beat Pep in FA cup and the league (even though City had already won the league) it counted. You just don't want it to count now. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Android17: 1:56pm On Feb 20, 2025 |
larride:It is not counted as a loss (hence why City still had the UCL home undefeated record till this season). |

Android17:Then when Madrid sacks Calo calo, for failing to win Laliga and UcL ...some folks will say -it's individual brilliance that saved him-. We know them reasoning ploy.. let them masturbate I don't blame them, Pep has set the bar so high for himself he needs perform high every season or he is tagged a fraud, but Mourinho and Calo is a Coaching god even when having bad season or series of bad season.🤡 |
