Hello everyone,

I'm reaching out to you all because i'm actively seeking for academic job opportunities. If you are aware of any job openings or have connection in your network that could assist, I'd be forever grateful.

I hold a PhD and I'm willing and eager to bring my expertise to the academic institution.

Thank you in advance for your help and support!

A PhD holder seeking job opportunities? You shouldn’t have left the job you were doing with your first degree. I always advise people to ensure they don’t quit their jobs (which put food on their table and money in their pocket) for higher education—especially when there's no guarantee of securing a job afterward, particularly in a country like Nigeria.

The higher your qualifications in Nigeria, the slimmer your chances of getting a job. I would advise you to transition into tech. Rigorous training in Python, MySQL, and basic Excel knowledge can set you on the right path, but it won’t be easy. You’ll need to invest at least ₦30,000 per month in training.

Sorry, bro!

That won’t push me to pursue a higher academic certificate. Instead, I’d go for a professional certification. Your work experience is one of the key criteria recruiters look at, so it shouldn’t take long to secure a new job. I’m not trying to judge here because I don’t know the full story. I’m only speaking based on the experiences I’ve had with people going through similar situations, and the one thing they regretted was pursuing a higher university certificate instead of continuing to look for a job with their first degree and focusing on professional courses.

You made a fallacy of hasty generalization here.

How many people have you seen quit their job for advance degree in Nigeria? I haven't seen anyone do. Unless those earning minimum wage or sh!tty salary. People I know keep their job for either part time program or seek permission from their office.

The issue is there is high unemployment in the country. Majority of people don't have job in the first place.
