Why is it difficult for you guys to read with understanding, what is the total production capacity of all the refineries you mentioned and what is the total daily need of Nigerians? Once you have the answer, I believe you will understand why there is need for importation of fuel

But this shouldn't be a cause to worry abt government is no more paying subsidy who ever import fuel to smuggle uses his own money, na only dangote this suppose be problem for not Nigeria government or NNPC. If they are importing to smuggle to other African countries it means they are still buying cheaper than wat dangote is selling, it is an open market if you have the money import do it from anywhere it is cheap these will only make domestic refinery more competitive except the imported refined products is a stolen crude

i am not defending them but just saying that there is still very very heavy fuel smuggling going on at the borders most especially in the north, and in all the regions, same with the Cameroon border too just to mention a few, whether it amounts to 50m or not can still be debated though.

Exactly my own point too, but it seems the bone of contention is whether NNPC is importing or not . I want to believe that by NNPC coming out to say these things it means they are indirectly admitting to fuel importation . Which means that the refineries are not working and they are only reselling from there stock which they import

Gen users has dropped by 50%, the remaining 50%, 40% their purchasing power has dropped from 10ltr to 5...

Car users has dropped with their purchasing power too, yet Nigerian government is telling us we are still consuming 50m liters of fuel per day.

Dangote refinery alone can refine more than 25 million liters per day.
