The songstress was important to the plot, in a way, (yes, she can be irritating, lol....but this time, important). Her singing distracted the archbishop of the witch cult that Priscilla was fighting(Sirius Romanee-Conti..the wife of the late and lamented and Best girl Betelgeuse Romanee-Conti) and helped break the spell she had cast on many of the people around the area of the fight. Naturally, the Witch cult archbishop lost control of herself, and lost the fight.

Still, my problem with some anime is the tendency to draw out the story...like they are scared to finish the story too fast. Also, they slow down things because...money must be made.

I think finally that the idea is that we would see a focus on the individual fights with the Witch's cult members (last week we saw a focus on Garfliel and Wilheim fighting against the Archbishop of Gluttony, as well as part 1 of Subaru, and Julius' fight against the guy with many wives...and that fight is still on.).

It's not about me not liking the episode.
Almost half of the episode was dedicated to the back story a new one off character. Meanwhile, the show introduced a Chekhov's gun in the show during Priscilla-Sirus fight.
They should have spent more time explaining that instead of introducing a new character that'll probably only be present during this arc, and never seen again.
