Very sad for him. Travelling to Europe and hoping to make it big time, only to have your dreams truncated due to situations outside your control. I don't know the details of that deal but I wonder how things would have fared if he was given more time to adapt.

Coming in middle of the season is definitely not the best time to join a big club, who were underperforming and needing some magic from anywhere they could find it.

I think Barcelona set this whole up to fail. Nothing ideal whichever side you look at it. We should have given him more time or we should have given ourselves more time before we signed him from Brazil.
