Na only house rent Lagos use cost pass many states in Nigeria
I spent over 5 years in Lagos island
Just 1 week in Benin city.im already complaining
Yoruba land apart from ondo ekiti is cheap due to presence of many industries and farming
I keep telling people in Akure that they're adding too much greed to their market.
I buy my stuff in Lagos and waybill them to akure

A great lie, come ro Cross River State
cross River is not expensive. The only issue in calabar and not cross River as a whole is recent rise in accommodation but its not still compared to the likes of Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt.
Re: Top 10 Most Expensive States To Live In Nigeria In January 2025 by Angelfrost(m): 2:50pm On Feb 21, 2025
There is absolutely no justification for the top 3 being on that list...!

The cost of living in Imo and Ebonyi have absolutely no correlation with the commercial and industrial activities there.

That means such states will have a high occupation and prevalence of crimes.

Op, everywhere in this country is expensive to live in right now. Even down to the villages. Farmers are ripping us off
YOU'RE VERY CORRECT. EDO NORTH IS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN KADUNA. I SPENT THE LAST TWO WEEKENDS IN FUGAR CITY EDO STATE. A BIKE RIDE FOR AS SHORT AS 500 METERS WILL COST YOU #400. FOODSTUFFS ARE ALSO VERY HIGH.
WELL I BOUGHT 50KG RICE FOR 40K YESTERDAY. THANKS TO PBAT. NIGERIA WILL BE GREAT AGAIN.

I'm not in Nigeria but my mum, siblings and some friends who are originally from my state are there. When compared, Lagos is far cheaper than most states in Nigeria.

Please take back what you said about farmers. Farming is one of the most unsafe venture now due to insecurity and you're talking about rip off.

A STATISTICAL NONSENSE. LIES WHO TOLD YOU RIVERS STATE AN AMONG THE EXPENSIVE STATES TO LIVE IN . YOU THINK YOU CAN DRIVE MORE PEOPLE INTO LAGOS WITH YOUR LIES. LAGOS IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE AND THE HARSHEST STATE TO LIVE IN DOWN SOUTHERN NIGERIA.

The Yoruba propaganda machine is in full swing. The are here to bash other regions.

One day their hold on power will end and whichever region gets it, they also will set up their own propaganda machinery.
Oga calm down. Not everything is tribalism.
The busiest and most functionality port in Nigeria is in Lagos. Judging by the fact that we literally import everything, it is only sensible that these products are cheaper here. Housing is another thing entirely. Not like I agree with the article like that but Lagos is relatively cheap. In business, too many competitors eventually drive prices of services and commodities lower. Food is more expensive in Lagos because the state cannot feed itself just yet even though the government has begun the processes it needs to be able to do so. If we didn't import as much as we did, naturally, Lagos' population will gradually reduce

Food is way cheaper in Lagos

All in all, Lagos remains the most expensive

This is arguably a subjective survey. What happened in the rising inflation in the city of Abuja and Lagos respectively?
Re: Top 10 Most Expensive States To Live In Nigeria In January 2025 by yusufmurry: 3:02pm On Feb 21, 2025
This is completely a biased and unrealistic report.

I have not been to the North that much, however, from my experience, this is my order. You can add yours:

1. Edo State
2. Delta State
3. Imo State
4. Cross Rivers
5. Ondo
6. Anambra State
7. Borno State
8.
9.
10

PS: A major factor responsible, is due to high rate of yahoo activities in the states above

WHAT MAJORLY DRIVES UP THE COAT OF LIVING IN A PLACE ARE ACCOMMODATION AND TRANSPORT , AND THESE TWO THINGS ARE NOT CHEAP IN LAGOS. DESPITE THE AVAILABILITY OF A NUMBER OF SEA PORTS IN LAGOS YET THINGS ARE STILL VERY EXPENSIVE . THE HARDSHIP IS PRIMARILY CAUSED BY THE RULING POLITICAL CLASS WHO ARE OBSESSED WITH HIGH TAXATION ON EVERYTHING. THEY ARE SIMPLY LIVING OFF THE BACKS AND SWEAT OF THE MASSES.

Haaa. I thought everything has to be looked through the prism of Tribalism on NL and we are to switch to logical reasoning when the shoe is on the other foot.

When Buhari came in, urea was N7,500 a bag. After bamboozling you with his Presidential Fertilizer Initiative that promised N5,500 a bag, he left office and urea was at N42,000 a bag.

Who is doing the rip off?

I could understand why rent is expensive in places like Lagos and PH, the likes of Imo and Enugu is something I find difficult to understand. If you dont have up to 1 million don't even think of renting a decent 3 bedroom anywhere inside Enugu city
