Have u been to ogbo ogwu market before? There is a builsing materials market inside there, there are other smaller businesses? You can shut down people selling building materials because of drugs people. There is what is called intelligence in every operation and obviously this lacks none.

Shutting down other busineeses who dont even know what is happening is criminal in itself on the part of NAFDAC. Where did NAFDAC get the power to close down building materials market?

You people should stop fooling yourselves. NAFDAC should apply intelligence in its operations as obviously it is lacking. Shut down only the shops that are victims not innocent businesses.

Thia is akin to the nonsense the poluxe does anytime somebody is killed, they start mass raiding arresting innocent people.
Those so called selling buildings materials and other stuff can also be a fake drug sellers. We know you people very well. It's called an organize crime. Let it remain close till proper investigation. As for Obi, he should forget about vieing for president or even vice president cause his tribalism is so loud. A very big bigot. I will rather vote a black south African to be president of Nigeria than that idiot.

Sharap.

Majority of shops and merchants in that shop are merchants of pharmaceutical products and so far, NAFDAC has said that over 90% of those dealing in pharmaceutical drugs are into fake and expired products.

If the police discover a hotel is knowingly having at any given time 90% of its guests
being kidnappers and armed robbers, will you condemn the police if they decide to seal off the hotel
Thanks you for the hotel example. Igbos love crime cos they are potential criminals too. Naturally they will always support crime done by their people. So if NDLEA track down an hotel and caught some users with drugs and not convinced about the caught ones and decided to throughly do proper investigation, to them, it will be wrong to close the hotel for the meantime. I used to feel for them why they haven't produced president since 1999 but I am convinced they don't even deserve presidency except we see a detrabilized Igbo not this packaged fraud called Obi. Very senseless in reasoning.

Are ibos any better than the remaining 300 ethnic groups in Nigeria that have not produced the presidency that they will not let us rest.

What even gave them the audacity to demand the Presidency on a platter of gold and why are all of them so invested in this ibo presidency thing...

Nigerians will be the biggest fools to ever vote an ibo man.

The kind of stupid and nonesense reasoning that crippled the Nigerian economy. Just like when Buhari closed down borders but went ro stupidly build railway for Niger.

I dont blame u guys, you have not done business before to know what it takes to build a business.

Whether Peter Obi is president or not his generation will never descend to the poverty level you are at. He is a billionaires. The Igbo Nation will keep making progress, the fools that gave them 20 pounds couldnt stop the progress of the Igbo Nation, how much less shutting down a market. It doesnt stop Igbos from buying up all your ancestral lands.

For me, NAFDAC has every right to shut down that market given that almost all the warehouse in the market are stocked with fake drugs.

The other shops not involved in drugs sales can be used as front and courier to ship out or trade illicit drugs so shut down the the whole market to distort and destroy the network and expired or fake drugs and serve as deterrent to the traders in the market from encouraging such trade in the market

It is pure stupidity to shut down a whole market because you discovered that a few traders were selling fake items. That amounts to throwing the baby out with the bath water

What you do is shut the shops found to be selling fake items, not the entire market. Why punish everyone because of the actions of a few?

It's pure stupidity
It takes sensible people to understand the actions of NAFDAC, It is beyond your reasoning so we can see who us stupid.

Obviously you have not been to market before that why you are talking about warehouses. Do u even know how massive that market is? Do you know how many sections in that market? Its just like shuttong zdown the entire Lagos Island market because of a chemist shop in CMS. Thats absolute madness.

Tomorrow if they kill somebody and while you are passing on the syreet ignorantly, the police arrests you, you will start crying for justice.

By the way, where dis NAFDAC get the power to ahut down a whole market? Shouldnt the agency have gotten a court order?

It was very bad form for him to use fake drugs, which causes a lot of people to die in pain, to play politics in the guise of a man-of-the-people stance.

I bet he has never gone to that market to buy drugs or authorise people to source them for him from there.

There is a sitting governor, Peter Obi should never have gone there to say what he said. He should have used his twitter handle.

Too bad

That market has form, even Peter Obi has shut it down before on this fake drug matter.

The scale of operations they found there suggested that it was something widely known and ignored by others, let everybody collect wotowoto over it this time.

Next time other traders see anything suspicious, they would immediately self regulate or report it thereby saving lives and preserving their own businesses on the process.

I am okay with the shutdown, hopefully a lengthy one to ensure it is remembered by all affected.

Maybe you should read the act that established NAFDAC so you can understand the extent of their power.

As for the market, it should remain shut until the Unions or Market Leadership commit to report and cooperate with the NAFDAC and security authorities on the activities of producers and sellers of fake drinks, drugs
and consumables in the market.
Re: Fake Drugs: Peter Obi Explains Stance On His Comments by flokii: 4:47pm On Feb 22, 2025
Mr. Obi has no right to tell NAFDAC or any of the regulatory agencies to open a market for any reason whatsoever.. he has never for once condemned those producing the fake drugs because he is an ethnic bigot, a terrible one at that.. but here he is trying to tell NAFDAC how to do their job. Imagine the slowp0ke telling Government officials to inform fake drugs producers before inspecting their shops. Just imagine the audacity of this fo0lish man.
Same way the hypocrite won't condemn sit at home and other human rights violations going on in the South East but will be poking nose up and down in matters in other regions.

The entire market is into production of fake and unwholesome drugs.

If there were any genuine drug merchants there, they ought to have reported to NAFDAC being that they will be competing against producers of fake drugs.

The market needs to be demolished and razed to the ground .
