Nobody is causing confusion here , if at all you wanted to punish anyone ,it should be the person who lied , cajoled, drugged, deceiver himself into the presidency of Nigeria and not the person who by military fiat took over , by military fiat created states, organized elections, canceled elections. Good look in your selective amnesia.
Lol, the irony is that even Igbos, who are associated with drug trafficking worldwide, mock Tinubu for his alleged ties to drug trade, while approximately 1.5 million Igbos are imprisoned in India alone for the same offense. If you agree with me that this isn't about tribalism but rather individual choices and consequences, ask yourself if you're genuinely better than Tinubu. If you've never made his kind of mistakes, how can you be certain you won't in the future? And if you have, would you appreciate being judged, mocked, and hated for it for the rest of your life? embarassed Furthermore, It's time for us to also move past the lingering resentment over Tinubu's controversial election victory. Dwelling on the past will not change the outcome, nor will it benefit anyone.

Moreover, free and fair elections have never been a reality in Nigeria; it has always been a contest of who can rig the best. Though Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar also participated in rigging attempts, Tinubu, as a master strategist, emerged victorious. Blindly trusting any politician and vilifying others is fruitless, as all politicians are fundamentally the same.

Nigeria is corrupt beyond your imagination, even if a leader intends to reform Nigeria to benefit the masses, the elites will never allow it, resorting to extreme measures, including assassinations. The unprecedented love and support Buhari received did not stop him from failing his supporters, because his life was under threat, just as Obi and Atiku likely would have also failed if they had won.

Unlike Obi and Atiku, Tinubu has the audacity to enact substantial changes, and his ongoing reforms should be constructively critiqued rather than simply disparaging him as a drug lord who rigged the election. Such constant complaints will not bring about any positive change.

Embracing Tinubu's presidency and offering thoughtful, unbiased feedback on his policies will be far more productive than harboring hatred and perpetuating division. After all, some of Tinubu's bold actions and policies have the potential to accomplish more than his predecessors, who chose to merely patch up problems instead of solving them and blame previous administrations for Nigeria's lack of progress.

Peace!

Former presidents are above the law in Nigeria. Buhari even said that no court should invite him after messing the country up
No, it's more like Nigerians seeing their leaders as a means to getting national cake.

Arresting said leader means their access to the cake is under threat. So, anarchy results.

Even if we split the country, the same thing will happen in the new countries, even in the ethnically homogenous ones.

Nigerians need to stop seeing the economy as a cake to be shared and maybe we may start seeing some leaders in jail.

South Korea has jailed past leaders. It is also an industrial country not a country reliant on exporting a resource and sharing the money. So people expect the government to support their means of contributing to the economy not sitting down and waiting for oil money. As a result the government there is on its toes

The thread and many threads have been by Igbos celebrating IBB'S lies.

I love these statements by the fearless Sowore:-

" that room where he launched his book yesterday was the gathering of all the criminals that made Nigeria unable to progress.”

"Apology is not what is needed because people ought to be deterred from doing this in the future"

“If they admit that he won the election, he should posthumously become the President of Nigeria".

Doubt that anything would come out of it

As much as I hate to say this, had ibb gone ahead to install abiola, there would have been massive crisis.

God knows how much I hate all our army rule, yes even Gowon, but the problem is that many Nigerians think that the only way that they can enjoy government is if their son is in power. And in 1993, many northerners were of that opinion and they had the army in their back. Ibb was between a rock and a hard place

Also the problem with Nigerians is that we like bad things when it favors us. See how some GEJ loyalists were telling him not to hand over power to buhari when it would have violated the laws of the land. ( It's because most of them were from various tribes that we don't read tribal stuff into it)

Nigerians have to stop seeing government as a place where you get your share of the cake. Even if we split up, the same attitude is going to persist. It needs to change.

What ibb did was wrong. But punishing him is not addressing the why
From the neutral mind

Let's take it one at a time...

Ibb is the subject of discuss here. In court do they judge all the criminal cases at a go?

Life na per head... When it reach time to punish the "drug pusher" then they will talk about his case.

Stop causing confusion!
This is the time.
If it's time for Punishment, then let it done properly.
Most Nigerians have committed suicide under the Buhari and Tinubu government.
In fact, Tinubu is called T-Pain, still the corrupt politicians still want him to have a second term.

In sane clime, IBB should be arrested and prosucuted.

In Nigeria we worship and adore rubbishes. Man like IBB should be serving life sentence.

Until we see all as touchables and answerable to the law, Nigeria will never progress.

There was an Igbo coup period.
Nobody was kpai in SE, but leaders in SW and NW we're kpai. They now installed their own, who abolished regionalism.

SW was doing very fine. Cocoa house, odua investment, free education, first tv station in Africa etc

The SW people have forgiven IBB, we have been compensated with obj in 1999. June 12 is now a national holiday in Nigeria. Abiola has the gcfr to his name. Tinubu is the president now
We are not headless mob people.
God bless you

1. If regions had remained they would have been in economic trouble in the 1970s.

The UK was our main buyer of all things. By the 1970s they were in serious economic trouble. Countries like Ghana whose main source of income was cocoa were suffering badly.

Nigeria survived because we had oil and because the abolition of regions meant that government could distribute all oil profits across the country, not just remaining in one region.

Had we had regions, the sw would have lost money from cocoa well well . Infact Ghana had to take severe cost cutting measures for over a decade if not longer to survive.

2. Most people in the regions were poor and broke. I am not lying. Yes they built nice buildings which were restricted to the capital and a few cities ,but most people lived in poverty and without anemities. That's why there was massive agitation for more regions and or more states. The idea being that there would be increased development.

Ilorin was a small village in the 1960s. Ilorin as a state capital is a developed city and has all sorts of anemities today. It's not perfect thoigh, but it's an example

I support Sowore 100% on this. All actions- evil or not should have consequences.
If you feel Buhari needs punishment, then come up with the prosecution.
IBB publicly admitting to a lot of wrongdoings in his book is enough evidence for any credible court of law to punish him.
