Son of General Sani Abacha, Nigeria’s former military ruler, Sadiq Abacha, has expressed admiration for his late father, stating that his leadership remains significant despite persistent scrutiny.

Sadiq, in a Facebook post on Saturday, suggested that his father was a victim of jealousy and subtle betrayal but insisted that history would ultimately be kind to him.

“The man Abacha—you have always been the one they envied with silent deceit. History shall remember you for being a better leader, no matter how much they try to put you down. As a son, I am most proud of you today. You indeed are the man they wish they were half of”, he wrote.

He ended his message with a Hausa proverb: “Duk wanda yayi jifa a kasuwa,” which translates to “whoever throws a stone in the market…”—a phrase often interpreted as a warning that actions have consequences.

Sadiq’s statement comes just days after the launch of the long-awaited memoir by former military President, Ibrahim Babangida, which has triggered extensive discussions.

A major highlight of the book is the controversial annulment of the June 12, 1993, presidential election, which Babangida admitted was won by MKO Abiola.

The former leader disclosed that while he regretted the decision, the move was largely orchestrated by forces within his government, allegedly led by Abacha, without his full awareness.

The late Abacha, who ruled Nigeria from 1993 until his passing in 1998, remains one of the country’s most debated figures.

While his government is credited with economic stabilisation and strong security policies, allegations of corruption and human rights violations continue to shape his legacy.

Northern Emirs, Rulers Forced Me To Annul June 12, IBB Opens Up, Implicates David Mark, Abacha, Emirs.

It was clear that General Babangida was in a fix as of June 21st 1993. I then proceeded to deal with the questions of who were these “they” and for what reasons would they want to kill the President and the President Elect if the June 12 election were allowed to go forward. He named them in military and in ethnic categories:

''Sani (meaning General Sani Abacha) is opposed to a return to civilian rule. Sani cannot stand the idea of Chief Abiola, a Yoruba becoming his Commander- in- Chief; Sani seems to have the ears of the Norhern leaders that no Southerner especially from the South West should become the President of the country. Sani seems to rally the Northern elders to confront me on the matter. He is winning; the Sultan and the Northern leaders are of this frame of mind.''

''Where do I go from here? They do not trust me. Without Sani, I will not be alive today; without the North, I would not have become an officer in the Nigerian Army and now the President of Nigeria I don’t want to appear ungrateful to Sani; he may not be bright upstairs but he knows how to overthrow governments and overpower coup plotters. He saw to my coming to office in 1985 and to my protection in the many coups I faced in the past, especially the Orkar coup of 1990 where he saved me and my family including my infant daughter.”

''Sani risked his life to get me into office in 1983 and 1985; if he says he does not want Chief Abiola, I will not force Chief Abiola on him.''

He also named Lt General Dongoyaro and Brigadier General David Mark as those who were against Chief Abiola. In fact, he quoted David Mark as saying: I’d shoot Chief Abiola the day NEC( National Electoral Commission) pronounces him the elected President!

IBB was right, Abacha annulled 1993 Presidential election because Abacha was Northern political elites/Mafias' endorsed butcher, reason Buhari adored him so much more than anything on earth because Buhari too was an unforgiven sadist.



Northern Nigeria Mafias replaced Abacha with Buhari, they love Moslem extremists, and Buhari was a perfect Moslem extremist, reason Buhari enjoyed cult-like followership in the North, not because of his good character or good leadership qualities but because he was a radical Moslem ready to kill for Islam and to defend the Northerm Moslem interest at all cost.



Northerners don't like IBB just as they don't like Atiku because both IBB and Atiku are not radical Moslems, and they leaned towards Southern lifestyle of libelism.



IBB was right, Abacha annulled the 1993 election with Northern political elites/mafias backing and IBB was handicapped to act against Abacha's decision because Northerners backed Abacha's decision and were ready to even assassinate IBB if he dared challenge the decision to annul the 1993 Presidential election that MKO Abiola won.

Today's so-called Ibo elite were all manufactured by northern military dictatorship. Peter Obi is a prime example.
