Hello Nairalanders, I’m sure you are familiar with the topic you’ve heard it over and over again for more than 15 years now, it’s been everywhere on radio, Facebook, X, YouTube and especially here on nairaland.

When a Nigerian asks “I have xyz millions of naira and I need advice on a country to migrate to for study, work or just relocation”.
The replies you see under the post or the voices you hear will say “WHY NOT USE THAT MONEY AND START BUSINESS IN NIGERIA”

So the question today is: To those of you who instead of traveling abroad started a business in the last 15 years (since 2010 or even earlier) how is the business going, give us your testimonies, challenges and your experience in general doing business in Nigeria. Do you regret it? Will you advice your child to do business or japa if your child asked for your advice haven done business in Nigeria yourself rather than japa.

Is there really a map to life? Just do things as your your spirit desire and make sure if follows your happiness.

Staying in nigeria you can make u a fortune but be prepared to do anything..also ur efforts can be wasted in the twinkle of an eye..your company can be demolished, you could go into a business and unknown to you, your direct competitor is a brother or cousin of one minister, party member or Town person of one man in power they will begin sending tax officials, building inspectors, environmental inspectors, water resources men, signage bereau, price board to wreck ur business, you can be kidnapped, c of o invalidated and your land given to someone else, the list is endless..the only reason u should migrate is to give ur children the freedom a normal human being deserves..nothing like stepping Into a plane and going to any country of ur choice and and getting a visa on arrival not the immigration officials looking at you like a criminal and when u avnt done anything to warrant such.

For the past 14years,I can I say I have fared well in business and I can beat my chest on this.

I would advice my children and and my grand children to have faith in the country no matter how bad it is under the APC govt.

What we are experiencing is another military govt cloak in agbada and suit deceiving people here and there and also making lives very hard for ordinary citizens.

In all,I can say it is better here than travelling abroad for me any day.

I’m happy to note that positive stories are still coming out of Nigeria.
