The man said clearly that the coup was not an Igbo coup.

That's why Yorubads don't quote his book concerning the issue of the coup

grin grin

If Maj. Ademoyega never wrote a book. I swear our Yoruba writers would have removed his name from the list of coup plotters and list only the Ibo officers. E sure die. grin

That his book hook our revisionist Yoruba writers for throat. grin

I am sure they hate him for writing that book. I read the book in year 1999. Dad had the original copy. grin

Don't know why the pdf version of this book is hard to find.
I'm kind of disappointed with the fact that some people say things like Ademoyega was a coward or was deceived. It's unfair on him.

Ademoyega was a history graduate of University of London.
Inotherwords, he was ahead educationally than all the coup plotters at the time.
Only on par with Ifeajuna, who did Zoology in UI.
For context, the revered Achebe & Soyinka didn't even have their first degrees abroad but in UI.

I would like to know more about this man, Ademoyega, cos there's almost nothing about him on the Internet. I keep wondering if he came from relative wealth, but I'm unsure.
Granted, many also went abroad to study in the 50s, but who was Ademoyega to have also gone at the time?

This thread will help you to know a little more about Major Adewale Ademoyega with regards to his role in the Jan. 1966 coup. A good number of the information came from his book 'Why We Struck'. The truth might come out late, but it still has its potency.
