Harley Quinn tv show is now funny, before it was hard to watch ,the profanities were forced but now the jokes just flow naturally.

Ozark (2017 – 2022)

A slow-burning descent into darkness.

I didn't get the chance to follow this faithfully during its original run, and after years of putting it off, I finally decided to give it a go this week.

Few shows can grip you the way Ozark does from the first season. From the moment Marty Byrde relocates his family to the Lake of the Ozarks, the show establishes itself as a compelling, relentless, and anxiety-inducing crime drama with a hint of moral dilemma. The signature blue tint adds a cold, almost suffocating vibe that perfectly complements its tense atmosphere.

Jason Bateman, better known for his comedic roles, delivers a surprisingly compelling performance as Marty, an accounting wiz and money launderer for a drug cartel. His restrained, logical demeanor contrasts beautifully with Laura Linney’s Wendy, whose transformation from reluctant accomplice to ruthless power player is one of the show’s best character arcs.

Yet, for all its strengths, Ozark isn't without its flaws. I knew it was a slow burn, but the pacing was uneven, some conflicts dragged on far too long, stretching the show across four seasons when it could have easily wrapped up in two. The writers seemed undecided about what to do with certain characters, especially Charlotte and Jonah, one minute, they’re integral to the main plot, the next, they’re sidelined. And I have to say, Julia Garner’s Ruth Langmore might be in my top 10 most hated TV characters. Something about her just didn’t resonate with me. Her tough girl act wasn’t fooling anyone, or at least, not me.

I have a theory that TV shows today become too good for their own good, leaving writers confused about how to end them. More often than not, they pick the worst possible conclusion, especially when the show isn’t pre-planned in its entirety from start to finish. Season 4 had a certain vibe like they were going to mess it up and they did. Instead of a cathartic resolution, the series finale was frustratingly ambiguous, leaving more questions than answers. Some character arcs that took years to build were abruptly cut off, making the payoff feel hollow.

Still, Ozark is a solid, tension driven crime thriller. It doesn’t reach the heights of BB, but it holds its own in the slow burn, morally complex crime drama subgenre. As for replay value? That sour S4 makes it hard to say. But overall, it’s a good show.

7/10.

I'll say every series these days have poor replay value and that's partly because we the viewers have a lot on our plates to start rewatching something we've already seen.

Good point. I genuinely can't think of a show rn even from yester years, that i can sit through again, from start to finish just because of the sheer amount of new media available to see and i still have to cover 😩.

Same. Movies as well.

It's only when them kids are rewatching some films I've watched before where I just give some minutes glimpses I get a chance to rewatch movies or series.

The Batman which I consider one of the best cinematic movies in the 2020s that I watched In a cinema, to rewatch it now is a problem despite downloading it in 1080p for premium experience for rewatch since 2022, I never get chance see am again. Cos I could easily use that time to watch something new in my ever growing watchlist.

Maannn...You are on that same hype run Brother Kaycee7 was on with Arcane last year that got peeps on here so spooked, with Solo Levelling 😩.

Left it at S1, tempted to come back to it, because it's all you have been talking about for weeks now....

Which paradise you all talking about?

The one i saw on YouTube is from netflix is a sci-fi theme where they take years of your life in exchange for loans, crimes and stuff.

The one I downloaded starts with one black dude.

The thing about Solo Leveling is it has a very simple premise and unlike Arcane that tries to be emo and artsy, SL doesn't take itself too seriously it's a very straightforward show - fun action sequences that can never be replicated in live-action

Who's a better Avatar when it comes too fighting and the Avatar state? Nigerian twitter have been hollering almost a week now😭 when the actual answer is definitely Korra

In pure fighting ability outside the Avatar State, Korra probably edges out Aang. She’s more naturally combative and versatile in close-quarters combat, while Aang leans on evasion and redirection. In the Avatar State, it’s closer—Aang’s got the advantage of all past Avatars’ knowledge, making his peak moments (like the Ozai fight) jaw-droppingly precise, but Korra’s raw strength and decisiveness make her terrifyingly effective, even without that spiritual depth post-Season 2.
It might come down to context: Aang’s better at fighting while staying true to a philosophy of peace, while Korra’s the go-to if you need someone to throw down and end a threat fast.
