Nigeria could have been better if the military did not involve itself deep in politics
I am telling you. They (Nigerian Military) were well trained. They even had to go to Indian to complete their training.

the Lantang mafia wanted him dead, he was the first to oppose and challenge Dimka's coup, Dimka was a member of the mafia, and the mafia wanted something to appease Dimka's death and the Vasta was picked. Had nothing to do with IBB. IBB rode on the back of the Mafia to become president. He had to give up Vasta when the Mafia came knocking
Abeg rest with this fairy tale. While gen Bali was the chairman of the military tribunal that tried Vatsa, his(Vasta) death had nothing to do with the Langtang mafia. Vatsa's death had everything to do with Babangida's insecurity. He felt Vatsa was smarter than him and could easily overthrow his government

he wanted to outshine by plotting a coup d'etat, without knowing that his best friend is the main Maradona of the game. Is painful to be betrayed by your best friend.

I’m the Jailed Man

I’m the jailed man
But what do you want to know
About the jailed man
That you haven’t known before?

I went to jail once
Not just by chance
But I was jailed for treason
As being their reason.

I know I didn’t do it
And they knew I couldn’t do it
But they needed me out of the way
So that they could do and say
The way they killed, with none to say
Men, that is not the way!

Poem was handwritten by Mamman Jiya Vatsa exactly 39 years ago. The same week with IBB's Book Launch. As if he knew IBB would write a book against him in the same week. Some lives created by God are never meant to be taken by any human.Karma might be delayed, but trust me,its coming.
It's liked, not killed according to the handwritten poem by vatsa

Bali was one of the kingpins in the Lantang mafia. Domkat Bali, Jeremiah Useni, Dongoyaro, Temlong, Shagaya and Co were all from Lantang, they wanted Vasta dead

HIs poem that I remember most is: Agaracha Go Come Back
He also wrote ,Tori don geti bow leg.
From what I heard, some soldiers asked him for a loan(Agric loan). He gave them without , knowing it was actually meant to sponsor a coup to remove Ibb from office. All the the pleas from international community and the likes didnt stop ibb from killing the coup plotters. He was Ibb's best man. He even got ibb his first Coloured Television. Chai, people get mind o. U kill ur childhood friend. Even if he actually was involved, why didnt he retire him or jail him over a long period of time?

I remember reading one of his books he wrote for kids while growing up. It was a lovely book of poem, full of life's lesson about laziness being a vice and a whole lot of others.

R I P Mamman. J Vatsa.

He was not involved in any coup plot. Maradona got his chance and made it all up.

This is too far fetched, sir. And they had to pick the best friend to the head of state?

Ibb was obviously insecure of vatsas intelligence and brilliance. He was too cerebral and was already considered an academic and instructor in the NA.
Re: A Life In Service: Mamman Vatsa by oyeb15: 1:32am On Feb 25, 2025
I don't blame IBB for Vatsa. He said Vatsa always do whatever he did. Even went for courses he attained and there was nothing he attained that Vatsa did not and can't rule out his eye on his seat.

I have friends like that. They don't want u to be better than them in any way.

"On September 6, 1969, we were married at the Marriage
Registry in Kaduna, followed by Islamic rites. My Best Man was
Major Abubakar Waziri. Shortly after, Maria converted to Islam and
changed her name to Maryam. After months of marriage, I returned to the war front, first to Abakaliki and later to Umuahia."

The autobiography does not record Vasta as Babangida's bestman on his wedding day. Abi Babangida had another wedding where Vasta was the best man?

When it appears that wicked people live long, it is an act of God's mercy. It's God giving Babangida a chance to repent. There's no more to it. A long rope. But as can be seen, the maradona in him will not let go. Even at old age and close to his departure, he is unable to face the truth and come to honest turn... his judgment awaits..

Military of those days was not for the faint hearted, he executed the best man of his wedding, first if vatsa was complicit in the coup , he knows the consequences of a failed coup, secondly ibb is not called evil genius for nothing he has always planned 5years ahead and he knew pple that could be obstacles, he was smart and courageous, he played everyone and paved his way even after he left office.

what about people that died premature without repentance. E.g abiola, ken sarowiwa. What will God do to them?

abacha was very brutal but not smart, ibb made more friends than enemies and used all of them to shape his life, abacha could not removed from office with a coup he had the most intelligent officer as cos at that time major almustapha , they needed some thing new and from outside the sores of Nigeria, and an opportunity presented itself when Arafat of Palestine had a stop by visit at Abuja airport , Israeli mossads we’re guarding Arafat because of the peace threaty btw Isreal & Palestine , Isreal is a strong Allay of the west ,in Al Mustapha’s memoir after Abacha shook hands with the Israeli Mossad guarding Arafat his countenance changed , later that day at the villa he was sweating profusely under an air condition room later his temperature was normalised and everything seemed fine but he died a day later, Arafat visited on Sunday June 7 1998 and Abacha died June 8 1998(suspected use of virus /biological weapon), same people that killed Abacha killed abiola to balance the equation.

what about the indian prostitute myth? and Why was abiola killed
that was a pathological lie to deceive gullible Nigerians , yes Abacha liked women ,they always have plenty of them in his guest house with general jt useni , buh theses were not men women could kill , such men can’t fall in children traps, as for Abiola after Abacha have died , and he died the day he was suppose to be released after drinking a supposed tea, ibb never wanted Abiola to be president at all cost , first after the annulment of June 12 he set him up with Abacha, asking Abiola to head the intern govt , Abacha seprately asked Abiola not to accept the interim govt , that he will remove the interim govt and make him the president if he supports him, Abiola never knew it was a trap and both ibb and abacha were playing him, when abacha removed shonekan frm intern govt and became president and locked up abiola, after abacha died , if Abiola was left alive he will still agitate for his mandate, the deal was both of them must go and another election will be conducted, same ibb got his cousin Abdulsalami to be president , he dusted and released obj from prison as a deal to hand over to him by 2007 but obj ended it, remember part of the deal to pacify southwest was a Yoruba man must be president in 1999 the 2 contenders from two heavy weight parties were Yoruba Olu falae and obj , Yoruba , afenifere wanted Olu falae but same person made it possible for obj .

Dimka coup was first resisted by Mamman Vasta, from Calabar, Vasta was the first officer to oppose the coup, which gave others moral to counter the rebels. Vasta then became the enemy of the Mafia. IBB rode on the back of the mafia to come to power.

No, but he used their platform to come to power. It was the same Mafia that created part way for Abacha. Obj ended their reign, by ensuring that all military officers that have participated in a coup or benefitted from a coup be retired wether they were due or not this ending the reign of the mafia
