that GT suv so cool
3008 model
That's an impressive 3008 SUV design. Peugeot has come a long way from what I used to know decades back from the 1970s.

Peugeot once owned the Nigerian market. They became complacent and lost their market share to Toyota, Hyundai etc. they are now attempting to come back with cars that are not attractive and don’t have the reputation of the rugged 504 and 505s of old. Their cars will have to be very very cheap to gain regain even a fraction of their lost market share. Toyota has locked down the Nigerian market they vacated for so long.

Dangote should have partnered with Toyota, I don’t see Peugeot making headway among Nigerian consumers except they are using Nigeria as an assembly base for exports.
True that.

Right from the 1970s through to the 1980s, and beyond, I recall that earlier models of Toyota, Datsun, and Honda Civic cars, etc, started eating into the market share of Peugeot despite the FACT that these Japanese brands had NO assembly plants in Nigeria. My father's immediate older brother imported a lot of Toyota vehicles from Japan to Lagos back in the early 1980s (during the democracy years and they sold out). With Ibrahim Babangida's infamous SAP in 1989, things just pretty started going south for Peugeot until now when Dangote revived it by construction a new assembly plant in Kaduna.

Dangote is a blessing to Nigeria. Removing the shame from the black man. Rather than just see us as a nation of consumers, Nigeria is gradually becoming a productive nation. This gladens me immensely.
100%.

But I wish he had started his own car brand like INNOSON. cool

What do you know about Peugeot cars?
They are one of the most dependent and durable cars on the highway. Best car to travel with Stability. It has fuel efficiency too.
If you had issues with Peugeot, it was simply because you patronize and inefficient mechanic or you are a poor man unwilling to spend to repair your car .
I have used 3 Peugeots cars and I am planning on buying the 508.
For me it is Peugeot anyway.

Wrong conclusion.
Peugeot had been the ideal Nigerian cars for decades. The brand is known for Efficiency and Durability and also Stability. Though Toyota gradually took over Nigerian market due to influx of Tokumbo cars and recently Bolt using it, but Peugeot brands, 406, 307, 407, 301, 408 and recently 508 still have a good share of the market especially with the Arm Forces and Para Military.
Go to any rich man's home, you will see at least a Peugeot because the cars are dependable.
I have owned 3 brands of Peugeot and I still want to acquire the 508 because they brand is a reliable brand.

Go and ask anyone that owns a Peugeot.
In terms of durability, can you compare a Toyota to Peugeot.huh
Till today, 406 brand remains one of the best cars to be produced. One of the best cars to travel with and enjoy stability on speed.

Some of you who haven't own a car and only know of Toyota brands because of Bolt will come and be ranting your mouth.

What a load of trash from a poorly educated ignorant millennial. We drove Peugeots when their keys opened each other….when Peugeots were Peugeots, when their engine numbers was the same as their chassis numbers! The number of Peugeots I drove just as a university student between the ages of 16 and 21, I am sure you haven’t in your entire adult life. As an adult, I never owned a Peugeot myself but as a child at least 25-30 Peugeots from 404 to 504 to 505 were in my house as my parents official official cars growing up and I drove at least 8/9 of them. In addition, my Uncle was the local content supplier of the acs for all 504s assembled by PAN. I never drove a 406 in Nigeria but I once rented one in the UK and I thought it was a pile of manure though I know people liked it in Nigeria. You cannot school me on Peugeot! I was obsessed with Peugeots as a kid, I grew up with them. I can tell you every minute difference between every Peugeot 505/504 model year from the mid 1970s to the late 1980s. Just by looking I can tell you this is 1981, 1980, 1979, etc. From the difference in the grills to the fabric on the seats, to the year they changed the door cards to the year they changed the headrests, to the year they changed the gear stick, to the year they changed the door lock! To which years had green or brown window tints, to which models had chrome window frames, to which years or models had disc or drum brakes, which models had independent rear suspension, which had live axles. etc etc. you can’t school me on Peugeot!

First fix your English, it’s “models of Peugeot” not “brands of Peugeot”…Peugeot is the brand, 504,505, 406 etc are models! It is “have not owned” not “haven’t own”!

Bush boy!

How Much Are they Selling their Cars?
This should be the concern of All NIGERIANS,as they would be mute on vital things.
Dangote should tell us ,how he has been helping Nigeria with Assembly Plants- instead of Real Manufacturing the Products.
Dangote is a businessman. Not running a charity organization. The vehicles are meant for those who can afford it. ......

I drove the 2014 508 two years ago.

That car is a machine!

Most of the people who talk down on the Peugeot brand haven't driven one before, or better still, are too poor to own one.
