Really? Is the same true about the influence of Tinubu in Lagos or that of Akpabio in Akwa Ibom? Tinubu was on the ballot, not Elrufai. This only speaks to Tinubu's unpopularity in 2023.

Akpabio did not deliver Akwa Ibom for Tinubu. Atiku won Akwa Ibom State (shocking right? Yet Akpabio is Senate President). It is disingenuous for the President to expect Elrufai to deliver Kaduna for him when Kaduna's votes were split 3 ways between Atiku (a strong Northern contender), Obi (Christian factor) and Tinubu. Despite that, Tinubu's margin of almost 400k in Kaduna is larger than his margin in at least 2 southwestern states combined. Matawale, Ribadu, Gbaja, etc did not deliver their states as well.

Tinubu did not win Lagos nor Osun, yet Lagos has the highest number of appointees and Oyetola is a sacred cow. The fact that APC senators scaled through in Lagos even reinforces the fact that Lagosians were intentional about not voting Tinubu, specifically. He was grossly unpopular in 2023 as an untested candidate with so much selling points and promise. Now that Nigerians have tried him, the verdict is out there on his performance.

Mind you, above post was made by Bashir Elrufai in 2022, that was before the cashless policy that greatly affected APC's chances in the North. Guess who did the most damage control and helped to salvage the situation in the North? Tinubu is just being ungrateful.
