After a while, rumors started flying among the community women. They began noticing something strange.

"This woman don dey pregnant over and over… but where are the babies?" Suspicion grew. Something wasn’t adding up, and the rumors of the suspicion was flying round.

Then, one fateful day, the mother/wife dropped a bombshell—"I’m tired of all these abortions. This time, I want to keep the baby." She told her son/husband.

The son/husband was devastated. He tried to convince her, but she refused. She went ahead and gave birth—to a child fathered by her own son.

A few days later, the young man died mysteriously. The entire community was thrown into shock and horror.

The rumors were no longer rumors—the truth was out, mother and son had been committing incest just to acquire and maintain their wealth.

Not long after, the mother/wife out of shocks and disappointment, fell gravely ill. Within a short time, she also died, along with the newborn baby/grandson.

And just as expected, the devil took back everything.

Their wealth stopped flowing overnight. Debts and suffering gripped the family harder than before. Their luxurious properties were sold off—just to buy food.

A few years later, the financial status of the remnant of the family, home and abroad, was worse than before they ever had money.
