SPEECH OF MAJOR GIDEON ORKAR – APRIL 22, 1990

Fellow Nigerian Citizens,

On behalf of the patriotic and well-meaning peoples of the Middle Belt and the southern parts of this country, I, Major Gideon Orkar, wish to happily inform you of the successful ousting of the dictatorial, corrupt, drug-baronish, deceitful, homo-sexually-centered, and evil administration of General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.

We have equally commenced their trial for unabated corruption, mismanagement of the nation’s economy, the murders of Dele Giwa, Major-General Mamman Vatsa, and others who were falsely accused of coup plotting, and for perpetuating wanton political assassinations and the rejection of the people’s legitimate demand for a national conference to determine their future.

Ours is a well-conceived, planned, and executed revolution for the marginalised, oppressed, and enslaved peoples of the Middle Belt and the South, with a view to freeing ourselves and our children yet unborn from eternal slavery and colonisation by a clique of this country.

We are not only out to correct the anomalies of the present and past administrations, but to also lay a solid foundation for the stability of this great nation and its advancement.
