A Federal High Court sitting in Abakaliki Ebonyi State capital, has affirmed the expulsion of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Vice Chairman South-East Chief Ali Odefa from the party.

This followed the granting of the reliefs sought by applicants in Suit No: FHC/AI/CS/FHR/197, between Hon. Herbert Onyedikachi, Hon Anoke, Egbe, Njoku Nwagu, Moses Idika, Ogbonnaya Idika, Obinna Chukwu, Chief John Igboke, Mrs. Ijeoma Nome, Okorie C. Okorie and nine others as applicants versus Chief Ali Odefa (defendant), PDP and Independent National Electiral Commission (INEC).

The plaintiff had sought for a reliefs seeking an order restraining Ali Odefa from parading himself as a member of the PDP and enjoying the rights and privileges accorded to members of the part iny.

They equally sought for an order restraining Ali Odefa from holding the office of National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP ) South -East Zone.

Delivering judgement on the suit, the presiding Judge Justice Hilary I. O. Oshomah, granted the reliefs sought by the plaintiffs and affirmed the expulsion of Ali Odefa from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Reacting to the judgement , counsel to the plaintiffs Chief Mudi Erhenede, commended the court for the judgement.

Erhenede asked for cost of N5 million against the 1st defendant Chief Ali Odefa.

However counsel for the defendants Ifeanyi Chukwu, told the court that they were not opposed to the judgment.

Odefa was expelled from the PDP on December 12, 2024, by the Executives of the party in Oguduokwor ward Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, after a disciplinary committee of the party recommended his expulsion having found him guilty of anti-party activities.

It would be noted that the Federal High Court in its earlier ruling, presided by Justice Hilary Oshomnah, had awarded N100 million damages against the expelled PDP National Vice Chairman South-East Chief Ali Odefa.

The court issued the order restraining Ali Odefa and the police from harassing, arresting or in any form intimidating the applicants on the issue of his earlier suspension from the PDP, Oguduokwor ward.

Wait until supreme court affirms Sam Anyanwu as National secretary and a new zonal congress sanctioned by Anyanwu is conducted in the SE zone

In any case there is a court judgement restraining PDP from suspending wike even though his expulsion will have no consequence on the fireworks ongoing in the party

Oga as far as the court has affirmed his suspension the best thing for him to do is appeal the Judgement.Whether his suspension was voided by NWC is no longer of importance.I am even aware damagun led group replaced him some weeks ago.Just as Ayanwu was deceiving himself after the court in enugu gave judgement sacking him,Odefa can also do the same thing and end up like Anyanwu.

The leaders of PDP are sincerely annoying me by their selfish actions.I am not a member of PDP,but I have been advocating a truce among the contending factions for several months now.They have made it a zero some game that the outcome is definitely going massively affect the fortunes of the party.

Court orders have always had no jurisdiction on membership and nomination. The NWC suspended Orbih and revoked the suspension of Odefa.

So, not even the Supreme Court have powers to dabble into it.

It is a Court judgement which should be obeyed at first glance.
The first thing he will do is try to obtain a Stay at that Court, if he doesn't he will approach the Appeal Court which will definitely grant him reprieve. Even if he doesn't want to appeal, you want him to pay that money for...?

Again, Anyanwu and Odefa have two different cases.... Everyone knows who is playing the drums. It's the pro-Wike and anti-Wike forces fighting and using the Courts.

Listen attentively, Damagum cannot replace Odefa without the input of the NWC. The SE Zonal Congress held today and the Executive has moved on.

You talk about selfishness and all that, you people seem not to know what's up in the PDP. Wike's task is simple, crush the PDP. He cannot be appeased. What do you want to appease him with?

To the wike issue, you're very wrong and you have zero idea about the fight going on in PDP. Wike invested heavily in the PDP and he is rightly trying to take over the PDP as a major shareholder. To the people you support, how many governorship, senatorial and House of Representatives candidates have they sponsored in PDP in the past 8 years?
