ottersberger:Those people are the worst thing that happened to Nigeria. After the war, the North concentrated on politics and left the economy to Yorubas. Awolowo quickly rushed and instigated an economic heist called Indigenization policy that handed down all foreign companies to Yoruba elites as Igbo elites were broke after the civil war which was exacerbated by the £20 pounds policy Awolowo ran. The end result is that Yorubas including Awolowo inherited all foreign companies in Nigeria which they subsequently ran down through poor management and plunged the country into recession with high unemployment rate. Take a clue to how they have ran the country since the North under APC left the economy to them, it's same pattern. Financial frugality and savings is not in their dictionary. It's all about flamboyance, owanbe, living above one means. These people are not of the same mould as Ndiigbo and we have no reason whatsoever sharing same country with them. |

Ikinternational: ![]() What you retards now do is deflect to sarcasm when your illogical premise is pointed out. Funny thing is, many of your folks have been defending the stupid statement and even the quoted guy has accepted his folly by default. SMH |

mrvitalis:Being found guilty is irrelevant. Why and the evidence for the guilt verdict is more important in a political context, at least, for properly educated people. |

Xisnin:Really so Kanu can be innocent even when found guilty? |

mrvitalis:No need to digress. You think I am one of those emotional kids who lose their reasoning when a particular name is mentioned? If Kanu is convicted with no evidence, yes, he will be innocent regardless of the number of years he gets. Now back to the topic. Do you think being convicted for "attempt to overthrow" the government automatically makes any suspect a coup plotter? |

mrvitalis:I purposely asked that direct question which I know you will avoid as you belong to the usual suspects group who stands for nothing impersonal. Assuming you are a reader, there are several books and documents that dealt with the trial including: "The Trial of Obafemi Awolowo" by L.K. Jakande (1966) Obafemi Awolowo's Allocutus(1963) For future sake, Judges are not gods or super humans. Judges do not gather or present evidence, their job is to deliberate on the presented evidence and give verdict. BTW, I fully support the 1966 coup and the targets, the only regret being that Nnamdi Azikwe, one of the instigators of political instability escaped death. What is really curious is that you seem to see judges as infallible gods in certain cases even with no evidence while opposing their decisions in others. |
