Dangote Refinery Reduces Petrol Price Again, Now ₦825 Per Litre by RealGandalf(op): 10:19pm On Feb 26, 2025
Lagos, Nigeria – Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has announced another reduction in petrol prices, marking its second price cut this month.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the company’s Head of Media Communications, Anthony Echiejina, confirmed a ₦65 reduction, bringing the ex-depot price down to ₦825 per litre from the previous ₦890 per litre.

This follows an earlier ₦60 cut in February, bringing the total reduction to ₦125 in just 26 days.

New Pump Prices for Lagos Residents

With the new price adjustment, petrol will now be sold between ₦860 and ₦865 per litre at filling stations in Lagos starting Thursday, February 27.

Dangote Refinery described the move as a relief measure, especially with Ramadan approaching, and as part of its commitment to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic recovery policies.

Consistent Price Reductions

Echiejina highlighted that this reduction aligns with Dangote's commitment to easing the cost of living for Nigerians. He recalled that in December 2024, the refinery slashed petrol prices by ₦70.50 during the festive period to provide relief to consumers.

Assurance of Fuel Supply

The refinery reassured the public of ample fuel availability, boasting:

1. 500 million litres in storage

2. A 650,000 barrels-per-day refining capacity, far exceeding Nigeria’s daily petrol demand of 385,000 barrels

Nationwide Distribution at Competitive Prices

Dangote’s petrol will be available at MRS Holdings, AP (Ardova Petroleum), and Heyden stations nationwide at competitive rates.

The company urged marketers to align with its pricing structure to ensure Nigerians fully benefit from the lower fuel costs.
