Watch the Moment DSS Storms Austin Okai’s Home and Arrests Him

The Department of State Services (DSS) has taken Comrade Usman Okai Austin, a former House of Representatives member for the Dekina/Bassa federal constituency, into custody.

A video circulating on social media captures the moment heavily armed DSS operatives allegedly picked Okai up from his home.

Nigerian politician and human rights activist, Sowore, shared the video on X on Wednesday, claiming that Okai was arrested for speaking out against Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo.

Sowore wrote:

> “Imagine how these lawless @OfficialDSSNG mercenaries are abducting, torturing, and dehumanizing a Nigerian citizen, @Austinokai just because he expresses himself against illegitimate Gov. Ododo of Kogi State. #RevolutionNow #FreeAustinOkaiNow.”



In another post, he added:

> “Lawless @OfficialDSSNG at it again. They must release @Austinokai immediately, with no room for govt security agencies acting as mercenary for corrupt, unscrupulous and illegitimate political hacks such as Ododo, Yahaya Bello and co! #FreeAustinOkaiNow.”



Recently, Okai had accused the state’s accountant general of going beyond her constitutional duties, raising concerns about financial mismanagement and undue interference in governance.
